Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 05:02 PM by BeatleBoot
Just kind of going through the motions. Wondering if I'll wake up from a dream.

It'll probably hit me this weekend.

brain to hear the worst. Has taken since Tuesday to finally start sinking in! Everytime I have woke since, I turn on the news just to check to see if it was a dream. Either it is a ground hog day dream or WE DID IT!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh it feels sooooooooooooooo good!

7. Me too. I kept thinking that I was going to wake up and it was all
just a magnificent dream. It's finally sinking in for me too. I watched this today:

and completely lost it. It finally sunk in. WE WON! :bounce:

32. I know - when I heard we won the House I was incredulous even though
Edited on Sat Nov-11-06 01:18 PM by JudyM
it seemed reasonably likely. I just didn't think the voting machines would 'allow' us to win. Since Allen finally rolled over I just have a continuous smile on my face but I have to keep shaking my head. Is this fer real?!! How is it even possible? Did they not mess with the machines this time because they knew we'd be watching?

17. My brother called and asked what it felt like to wake up for the
first time in six years and not immediately fall into a depression. Our conversations about the repugs could have gotten both of us sent to Gitmo. We were both absolutely giddy, let me say.

35. I know that feeling. When the election was first stolen,
I said, well how bad can this get? What a nightmare. This is the first glimmer of hope, I must say ,I have felt. Rolling Stone named my congressman, Sennsenbrenner, as the second worst congressman in the Country. He just won another term. I guess his power will be limited at this point so maybe we can remove the patriot act.

20. Even my cats are happy!
I knew what this post was about before I even saw it.

The thing is, we keep getting reminded, each time there's good news. And the list is long. From resignations, to Sibel Edmonds.

We're so used to being dragged around and kicked, it's almost hard to believe. And it transcends simple happiness. This is down to the core, physical happiness.

I am telling no lie, my cats can even tell the difference. WOOOOOOOO diddly HOOOOOOO times infinity at 180 decibels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

36. But he won't work with us
Thats why I am very skeptical over the next 2 years. I will be happy if I am proven wrong. We are all happy since wednesday, but pray that we will be better off 1 year from now. Democrats won, but are they progressive enough to touch base with us? I hope so, except maybe a few I don't trust like Bob Casey Jr.

34. Spared just in the nick of time: wild places and animals, global political stability, our democracy,
"ordinary people," and on and on. This is cataclysmic change. So grateful that it has actually, unbelievably, arrived. Thanks to all the volunteers on the ground and our democratic leadership for bringing about what seemed like the impossible. Now for the first time in 6 years, we can sleep without one eye open.

39. I have been feeling good all week and in an emotional high...
then my mom ruined it for me tonight. We were talking about the Dem take over and she starts lambasting the Democrats by saying that they have good rhetoric but they always give handouts. She said that there should be time limits to welfare but that the state should train these people to get jobs. She isn't happy with the Republicans either.

I mentioned that thing about Pelosi saying that impeachment is off the table but that most of the new Dems may plan on investigating the Iraq war. She says, "Oh it's called politics, ain't nothing going to happen. It never has and never will."

Now the thing is, my mom voted straight Democratic this time around. She told me that she will give Granholm (our state governor) a month or two but expects her to do something with the state's economy.

For me, I really hope that this new Congress coming in will prove her wrong.

I am very happy and pleased that the Dems have both the House and Senate and I am eagerly waiting to see how they function. I have high expectations that they will do something about the lies and troubles that this Adminstration has caused.

Blue
