12. There's no "real news" on TV |
|
Maybe PBS... but they wouldn't watch that anyway.

Let me guess...the only "real news" one can get is from Randi Rhodes?

3. The younger demographic they attract watches the least Friday night TV. |

A Friday broadcast would only have HALF the viewers, drag down overall ratings, and generally be much less attractive of commercial $$$.
Long story short: They'd lose money on it.

5. Because when you get to that level, you can work 4 days and we still love you! |

You know their Mon-Thur are long days, so I don't begrudge them!

I'm not sure, but I can't hold it against them...working a combined total of 2 hours each and every week (ok, not every week, but several weeks a year) has got to be difficult for Stewart and Colbert! ;-)
Seriously, it probably has something to do with the fact that a lot of people do not stay home and watch television on Friday night. Similar to the reason most popular shows on television air between Sunday night and Thursday night when people are home. Plus, I'm sure the 3 day weekend allows the writers a bit more time to come up with fresh, funny material (usually if a big story breaks during the week, you might see one or two chuckle worthy jokes about it that night, but by the next night the jokes about it are usually hilarious). I still wish that during the weekend they would replay the past weeks worth of Stewart and Colbert for those of us who happen to miss the shows during the week.
