Tech Help: Safari keeps crashing while on DU forums |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 06:39 PM by jgraz
Is anyone else seeing this? It looks like the Flash ads are doing it.
ETA: Running Safari 2.0.4, OS X 10.4.8 on a MacBook Pro.

1. Running Safari on a G3 iMac, no problems like that. |
|
Once in awhile Safari hangs up for me, but it doesn't seem to be related to DU or Flash ads.

2. No problems here - G4 10.3.9 |
|
I block pop ups in Safari prefs - don't know if that makes a difference in your case.

I could never get the threads to display correctly showing who was responding to whom. Mystery there.

8. Safari gives me problems... |
|
I use Firefox. I'd like to use Safari, and I do for some things, but I'm fine running two browsers.

9. You might try the DU computer help forum, see link |
|
I don't know anything about Macs but there are some very smart DUers who check in there http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=242

11. Trash your Macromedia preferences |
|
Just delete the Macromedia subfolder in your user/library/preferences folder, and see if that helps.
Doing that solved the problem I had playing Youtube videos that didn't play the audio.
