Byrd will vote for Alito but will vote to filibuster...?? |
|
Because he believes in the sanctity of his beloved Senate and he will reserve the right to filibuster? He is known to not follow the general consensus. But his vote, along with the Dakota Senators, Johnson, Dorgan, and Conrad, could make the difference in whether or not the filibuster will succeed. The Dakota Senators are moderate and fiscal conservatives who are very distraught about the way this Administration has spent us into debt. They know George Bush cannot be trusted. Yet, they intend on voting for Judge Alito? They should not trust this Administration on the budget or on appointees to the Supreme Court.

He's tpotally frickin wrong on this, but in contrast to too many otehr Democrats, I think he is doing this out of actual belief, rather than political calculation.
Like I said, I think he's totally wrong, but he still has a lot of good karma points from his previous stands against Bush and the Iraq War.

That he believes so strongly about the Senate. I put a question mark at the end - not a period.
