Hello folks,

I just got off the phone with Senator Nelson’s staff in Tampa. They have informed me that the Senator is not going to support the filibuster of Sam Alito.

I’m just giving you the courtesy of letting you know, that I will be filing the paperwork to run against Senator Nelson in the Democratic primary. I have long disagreed with Senator Nelson on many issues, but have always supported him. This lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court is too important not to fight.

Let Mister Frist bring on the “Nuclear Option”. It’s better than “nuking” ourselves. Our party needs someone to occasionally stand up for our base of support, instead of continually kowtowing to the Republicans and the DLC.

(P.S. Thank you. I called Nelson's Jax office today and told the that if he didn't support the filibuster today, I would not be able to support him in November. Now, I can call back and tell them that I'm supporting his soon to be announced primary opponent.)
