How long will it take for the M$M |
|
to report the Freeper Scandal?
For the last 6 years, the M$M has done everything they can to ignore Free Republic and the Democratic Underground.
I've got a feeling the world is about meet the hotbed of wackos, who will do anything for Bush, that is known has Free Republic. Freeper Marc Castanzo and hence the rest of crew are about to get their 15 minutes of fame.
BTW: White House spokesman Tony Snow is a registered Freeper. This goes all the way to the White House and Rove's army of bushbots that carried out an assortment of dirty tricks for their masters.
Let the fun begin.

1. CNN has already mentioned the guy by name. |
|
Let's hope that KO does a number on him and the Freepers... and Tony Snow (how do we prove that one?)

3. No... the anchor woman (don't know her name but she has a |
|
large mole or cold sore on her upper lip) mentioned the guy and that he was arrested. Talked about the letter to Nancy and to Dave Letterman... didn't mention any other letters. Also concluded that the letters were harmless... (I wonder how harmless she would think it was if she opened one). Came on about an hour or so ago and I haven't seen it repeated... but then I have the sound off and I'm trying to get some work done before business this morning.

9. 99% Of The World Doesn't Know These Places Exist |
|
When I was meeting people during the campaign, we'd talk about sources for news and information. While a few I met knew about DKos and Huffington Post, no one had heard about DU. Hopefully a few did take my advice and log on here (with hazmat suit) to get more information about the GOOP scandals.
While we consider Freepers the do-end end-all evil, these goons have a right to spew their bile and if someone wants to be a member, so be it. I'm proud to be a longtime DU member and I'm certain there are Freepers who feel the same way. Would it be fair that a Russ Feingold is attacked for his posts on Talking Points Memo or the candidates who raised funds on the Act Blue sites?
Freeperland is a refelection of the wingnut mindset...and can be insightful into how myopic and disconnected these people are.
If anything the more we expose these morons, the worse their party fairs.

11. Let's not forget it's the same group who harassed the Dixie Chicks |
|
Went to see the movie last night..Free Republic members played a big part in what happened to the DC, also. Hateful, bitter bunch, arent they?
When the M$M does get around to reporting the current story, I hope they include this part of the website's history.

14. I expect they're also behind Dixie Chicking our local radio station, too!! |
|
Our local and only progressive radio program (Jones Media) is being attacked through the advertisers. They've been telling listeners about it and asking for support to combat it.
"Dear WCPT Listener-
As the General Manager of WCPT 850-AM, Chicago’s Progressive Talk, I want to inform you of a very serious situation that only you can help to stop. It appears that there is a very well-organized group of people out there who want WCPT and stations like us to go away. We know this because when we put a new advertiser on our air, that business is hit with phone calls from so-called “customers” who claim that they will never use that advertiser’s product or services again. The bulk of these calls are coming from people who do not even live in the Chicago area. I have to hand it to these people, their scare tactics make even the most dedicated to the cause businessperson think twice.
Here is where you can help; I sincerely ask you to please support our advertisers any way you can. If you are looking for a product or service; please give our advertisers a try. Even if you are not, we ask that you call our advertisers and thank them for having the courage to stand-up to people who apparently have forgotten about a little thing called free speech. All of us at WCPT 850-AM thank you each and every one of you for your support of the station and its sponsors!
Sincerely,
Harvey Wells General Manager WCPT 850-AM"
As I said, it is the ONLY progressive station in the area...and it is a day-timer station to boot!

13. The public at large honestly doesn't care about either. |

Why would the media bother reporting on a political discussion forum? Now, when they actually do something--like Kos and Lamont--then they actually do get reported on and given their fair credit (though there was excessive backtracking and dismissal of the netroots after the hideous gnome won his reelection) If you're the kind of person who would be interested, you already know about them. It's mildly interesting that this guy was an active member of a right-wing discussion forum, but every forum has a few nutjobs.
The media only reports on news they think people will want to watch (as you allude to with "M$M"), and most people don't really care about the freeper/DUer rivalry. I wouldn't hold my breath.

15. The MSM is part of the BFEE propaganda delivery system |

"Reality vs. perception mangement" http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x71919Still the truth and the desire for it is much greater than the propaganda and the Internet is helpful in spreading it, despite Network Centric Warfare and all that other totalitarian stuff sometimes played out at political websites like ours and the opposition's.
