1. I have been predicting that for awhile now.

The problem is that we don't have much of an ability to take on another war...not financially or militarily....and I think the internet age will make pulling something like the Tonkin incident off very difficult.

But something being a horrible idea has never stopped Bush before.

2. I expected this, as I'm sure did many others, in October

I don't see the value in it now other than to put the new Dem Congress on the spot. However, I'm bugged by Cheney's attitude toward the new Dem Congress. It's like he feels the Dems are irrelevant and he and others will continue to do as they please in Iraq and elsewhere. If it happens, maybe it will be in the spring.
