Now that the midterm elections are behind us, Wonkette can get back to our true purpose: obsessive analysis of the Bush Twins’ drinking habits. Today, IvyGate directs us to a couple photos of Barbara tailgating at Saturday’s Yale-Princeton game. With a red cup always in hand — and, more importantly (and highlighted at right), an additional beer in her back pocket — Jenna demonstrates, as IvyGate puts it, “true Bush-caliber commitment to drinking.”

It’s good to know that while Jenna travels to Paraguay to grease the wheels for her father’s eventual flea from justice, Jenna is keeping true to the other half of the family tradition: fucking up grandly until you’re forty or so.

My sister and I pick a soldier to send a Christmas package to every year, and I spent the morning going through the listings at anysoldier.com to pick out this year's recipient.

Some of them have photos of people from their units who have been killed. Some talk about raids, IED's, and how terrified they are when attacked. There are medical units asking for shirts and pants for their wounded because their clothing is all left behind with their units. Most of them want sad little things like Christmas stockings and warm socks and candy.

And then to see these party girls livin' easy, without a bit of shame while young people their age are being blown up on a daily basis just makes my blood boil. One would think they'd be a little more discrete in their behavior but I suppose it's too much to ask a Bush to be unselfish or to show a little restraint. The world is their oyster, I guess, and they love rubbing our noses in it.
