Looks Like Another Parlock Is Upset....
she doesn't like Marshall football fans booing the opposing team as they come onto the field. Some of the posts in the ensuing thread are pretty funny.

From Herald dispatch.com

MU fans should be nicer to opponents

I am proud of Huntington, and I am proud of Marshall, where two of my children attend and from which one other has received her degree.

I was deeply touched by the enthusiasm with which we all listened to the clip from the movie "We Are Marshall." I felt the love and camaraderie running like a thread through the many thousands of fans and the pain of those who had experienced the loss so many years ago. The clip from the film spoke of the heart of the team, and to me, that is the most important thing.

That was my first Marshall game. I was greatly saddened when our fans booed when the opposing team came onto the field. Later in the game, I was once again totally dismayed when our fans would make lots of noise together when it was the opposition's turn with the ball. When I was growing up, as I understood and remember, we were supposed to be quiet before a play so the players could hear the calls.

I would really appreciate it in the future if we could act as gracious hosts and never boo another team. I would also appreciate it if we would allow our players to win fair and square on their own, not with us hindering the other team from the stands with our unsportsmanlike conduct.

Thank you, fellow Marshall fans.

Elizabeth McQuaide-Parlock

1. I thought that it was a joke.
I thought it was that home field advantage thing & all. Perhaps they can be "the mumbling herd"

2. I thought another post is already
carrying this story. I just hate repetition.

3. Has she ever heard of home field advantage?
I wonder what she defines as unsportsmanlike conduct? If there was unsportsmanlike conduct there would be a penalty assessed against the home team.

Granted there shouldn't be foul language used in a public event. Nor should there be objects thrown out on the field or at any player. I haven't read the full thread and don't know if that happened.

5. No Nothing Thrown on the Field...
the scoreboard even urges folks to "Make Noise" when the other team has the football.
