A frequent commentor on Democratic Underground, Castagna was also a regular on the right-wing message board Free Republic under the nom de rant, Marc Costanzo.

I took the liberty of properly editing it, to what is really meant (notice the addition of "says" and the exclamation marks). There can be no mistake once you press the "Democratic Underground" hotlink on the Radar page...It takes you right to the 5 star thread by Morgan2.

A frequent commentor on Democratic Underground says, "Castagna was also a regular on the right-wing message board Free Republic under the nom de rant, Marc Costanzo".

The radar purposely screwed up the editing to give the impression that
this nut-job is a DU poster.

8. Obviously, someone is lying...
Edited on Mon Nov-13-06 02:57 PM by TwoSparkles
...and attempting to quell the damage for Free Republic.

Someone posted a lie, so when the media and other researchers go to Free Republic--to follow the story--they
will get inaccurate information about his association with Democratic Underground.

Typical. So frickin typical.

DU has been Swiftboatted, my friends. They need to take the focus off of themselves and Free Republic
and spread it around. They're lying--deliberately.

Watch. This lie will be repeated all over the place, and DU will be forced to defend itself against a lie.

Obviously, there's some high-level PRing going on here. Someone high in the ranks wanted to redirect the potential
damage for FR--that the truth would inflict.

What a bunch of bastards.

22. Yep, as the media chases this story...
...and Free Republic becomes a part of the story--the media will visit the site.

Free Republic--and the overlords in the Republican party know this.

That's why the lie was posted.

Maybe someone on DU needs to post a thoughtful, accurate and truthful post--and thoroughly
debunk the bunk on Free Republic.

I'm so sick of these thugs. They can't even live with the reality of their own truth. They
created this monster. He came from their side of the fence. Instead of dealing with the truth,
they distort it to avoid responsibility and accountability.

These people are evil.

38. Radaronline, or what ever their name is got the facts correctly
but posted it badly. If you look at the links, what they intended to say was, a frequent poster on DU discovered that this guy was a poster on FR. It appears, in their haste to get the story up, they weren't very clear in their story telling end of the piece.

It has FR all confused too. If you click on the link there it brings you to morgan2's original post here on DU. They need to revist it and make it clear that morgan2 and this letter mailing, FR terrorist are NOT the same people.

The post emphasizes that he is a poster here, who also posts on Free Republic. If he's here, he's pretending to be something else. On FR, he's himself. The post is trying to make FR look less involved.

Free Republic Contributor Linked to Keith Olbermann Fake Anthrax Letter

FBI investigators identified Chad Castagana, 39, of Woodland Hills, California, as having sent as having sent more than a dozen threatening letters to media outlets, newscasters, and public figures such as Jon Stewart, David Letterman, Rep. Nancy Pelosi future House Speaker, Chuck Schumer of New York, one of which contained a white powder substance to MSNBC's Keith Olbermann.<1>

Castagana, has REPUTEDLY been linked to the used psuedonym, "Marc Costanzo<2>", long user of Free Republic, whose bio states:

I am a lifelong Conservative Republican .

I have an Associates Degree in the Science of Electronics .

Ann Coulter is a Goddess and I worship Laura Ingraham and Michele Malkin .

English is the langauge of the United States of America- - our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution are written in the langauge that expresses our civilized freedoms .

Spanish is the language of Banana Republics, beyond that it belongs in a European country.

Just weeks before the Olbermann letter, Costanzo wrote:

"This partisan loudmouth Olbermann is a demagogue! Someone should find out where he lives and mail him a Ted Kazcinski letter."<3>

After the Keith Olbermann letter, Costanzo wrote: "Not to make light of the situation, but drama queen Olbermann put on quite a production even after he'd been told the powder was harmless and checked out by doctors and told he was fine. He demanded that he be rushed to the hospital for more tests. I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if he mailed it to himself. I've never seen someone more desperate for attention and approval. I heard from a liberal blog that Olbermann was a prima donna at the hospital, giving the medical staff and the cops a hard time. Keith is a whiny little b@tch! Accepting that, I do not believe he sent it to himself. But that is just guess work."<4>

A letter which was posted on the Science Fiction Weekly web site, their August 26, 2002 issue, Costagana wrote: "The future is not the current events of our world thrown into outer space. The future is not with the Liberals, not with the Multiculturalists (both hate America), and it is certainly not to be found in Canada! The future is not written, the future is unformed."<5>

Four years later Marc Costanzo wrote on Free Republic:

"Let us create a future of infinite possibilities devoid of the agenda of the social engineers who work their corruption on us thru the one way world of television. A world where anything is possible, but not everything is possible. Anything can happen, but not all things can happen at once. That is what 'Time' is for, to keep all things from happening at the same moment. That shall be the only rule of our new fantasy world. That an event happens only once. What has been done, cannot be undone. There is no turning back the sands of time. You can review the past but you cannot change the past. That a vision of a possible future - to the present, must be taken in the context of the present. A Cosmos not governed by compassion or tolerance or equality, but common sense and merit. A Universe of strange and totally new lifeforms and not distorted reflections of human characters, just to make some social allegory ---- THAT is the insipid barren road of Political Correctness that Sci-fi entertainment has been a slave to for so many years. The future is not the current events of our world thrown into Outer Space. The future is not with the Liberals, not with the Multiculturalists (both hate America), and it is certainly not to be found in some cheapo TV production made in Canada! The future is not written, the future is unformed."

In a Free Republic posting, "Costanzo" reveals that he hails from Woodland Hills, California, the same site as the future arrest of Chad Castagana.<6>

After the Chuck Schumer letter, Costanzo wrote: "Hold it here now, what are the facts? The links provide few details. This info is very sketchy!"<7>

When the Washington Post recieved it's letter, Costanzo responded: "I heard recently that The Washington Post got interrupted beifly the other day becaue of a 'suspicious letter'. I read about this at Wonkette.com They said that this letter only contained harmless powder of Boric Acid."<8>

Many have linked "Costanzo's" "I have an Associate's Degree in the Science of Electronics" and Castagana's web history<9> <10> <11> indicating a strong interest in the subject.

Liberal blogs, including Daily Kos, have now uncovered numerous aliases.<33>
