It's gratifying that our Dem leaders finally have something to feel so good about. |

I was just watching Barbara Boxer being interviewed by Tucker and felt peaceful looking at her... I realized that I've emotionally "had her back" as well as the backs of our other progressive leaders for so long. In addition to being thrilled about our win, I'm also thrilled for Boxer, Conyers, Waxman, etc who personally have been in serious scratch-and-claw fighting mode for the barest survival of our democratic ideals and progressive principles. I can only imagine the existential shudder they must have felt on a continuous basis, but they faced it heroically, IMO. They continued to stand up, hold hearings in the basement, suffer the ridiculous insults that were picked up and repeated by the vacuous MSM, press on when it seemed they were witnessing a moral meltdown that seemed invisible to the masses. They didn't give up. They did us proud.
I'm glad they stood together through the last 6 years, and I hope they continue to stand together rather than dissembling into factions among themselves. Now is the time for their voices to be heard. Though it's Fall, it feels like a sunny morning in late March when the cold is inexorably giving way to the warming sun. The birds are singing, the snow is glistening and melting. We are revived.

1. Yes, they have been put through hell. I am ecstatic for them, too. They deserve our |

thanks and support, for all the humiliation, ridicule, second-class citizenship they've been put through. And still they hung in there, good, brave patriots that they are. Imagine being in their shoes in the Congress facing that ugly GOP machine. Thank God the long nightmare of one-party neocon rule at last has ended.

2. Hopefully it really means the end of the neocons... but they're damned powerful. |

And the corporate interests they serve are cash-rich and well-positioned to get what they want. Bleak as that sounds.
