Way to go, Obama...
Give the Ray-Publicans their talking points. Hatch is on the floor right now talking about what Obama said this weekend.:banghead:

8. I'm trying to look up the transcript....
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 04:11 PM by samhsarah
I don't want to misquote him, but it was along the lines of "I will fillibuster, but I really don't want to. If the Dems wanted to fillibuster, they should have thought about this a long time ago,..." But like I said, that is nowhere near his exact words. As soon as I find the actual quote, I will post it for you.

Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 03:45 PM by gumby
On Sunday, Sen. Barak Obama, D-Illinois, faulted his Democratic colleagues for relying on parliamentary maneuvers to make their point.

"I will be supporting the filibuster because I think Judge Alito, in fact, is somebody who is contrary to core American values, not just liberal values," Obama told ABC's "This Week."

But he added, "These last-minute efforts, using procedural maneuvers inside the Beltway, I think, has been the wrong way of going about it."

Predicted Obama: "Judge Alito will be confirmed."

Well, Barak, why didn't you use your face time to educate the public instead of bashing Democrats?

17. Well..
...Democrats SHOULD have been better prepared. Hell, Bush SHOULDN'T EVEN BE IN OFFICE. He shouldn't have been installed in power in 2000, and he shouldn't have been permitted to stay after 2004. So Obama is correct. Crike, we got Byrd and Lieberman actually HURTING our cause, but I've seen 20 threads wanting to crucify Obama for pointing out a truth.

What the hell ever...

23. Well...
When Orrin Hatch (REPUBLICAN) can stand on the floor of the Senate and repeat what HE (Obama - DEMOCRAT) said word for word as one of THEIR talking points, then maybe it's a truth HE (you know, the DEMOCRAT) should have kept to HIS damn self.

well, if this was even closer to the elections I guess it could be but still...did he have to say that now?

Sorry - I had high hopes for him too but this was just plain stupid.

28. I'm beginning to suspect that Obama is up to something myself
He seems to be more upset about filibustering in general than filibustering Alito in particular.
