He doesn't like Dems standing up and fighting.

14. There are several Schultz haters here on DU
Some think he isn't liberal enough. I believe most of them are probably very young people who don't have a grasp of reality yet. But I may be wrong. Anyway, Schultz is mostly all right. Like Randi, Maddow, and all others, he makes comments which I disagree with, but overall, he's ok.

18. Look at what he did to Murtha
Sorry it was a bit facetious, but when he starts talking about what a "liberal" he is, I remember how he badmouthed Murtha.

23. I heard him compliment the shit out of Murtha
I must have missed the show where he slighted him. Some people are WAY too sensitive for politics.

11. Fighting and crazed rantiing
aren't the same thing. This is fighting. Camping at Crawford is fighting. Screaming chickenhawk and mooning Bush is ranting. Big Eddie opposes ranting. As do I.

10. Kennedy sounded confident, Ed was pulling for the filibuster,
and if we are going down in flames he gave absolutly no indication.

It's about time for the pop corn....

12. .
he thinks there may be a lot more votes than it appears right now.

Democrats on the fence may vote against Alito is what he means. And the point about pressure on democrats in red states is valid... lots of pressure on them to vote for Alito or face the wrath of constituents.

19. God bless Sen. Kennedy. He always stands up for US citizens over
the corporations. Very sad about Byrd. Wrote him to tell him this vote is his legacy. DKos is down "for maintenace" was having trouble bringing up the cloture thread and diaries. Very strange diary that said Jeff Bingaman (D- NM) staff said that if he receives 2,000 calls in the next 20 minutes he will vote against Alito. Diarist seemed skeptical but asked people to do it and had a lot of comments for something that was posted a few minutes.

20. Diarist at Kos was right - The Dems should have bought airtime for a half
hour to explain to Americans why they are against Alito since the media will not give them equal time or report the truth.

Also suggested that airtime should be bought by Democrats year round not just during elections to tell the truth about where they stand and why. Though expensive, an investment to make sure American hear the truth and not just the corporate media's right wing slurs.

22. Even Andy Hiller (CH 7-Boston) thinks Kennedy's great days are behind him.
That was a great surprise to me since Andy is usually right on the money.

24. What?
It's over.

Although the actual vote could be closer than the cloture vote.
