Have you guys seen the Castagana affadavit? "Cuntface: IMPEACH THIS!!"
http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2006/11/the-castagana-correspondence-right-what-you-know.php

According to the affidavit, Castagana, an "average looking" 39-year-old white guy who lives with his parents in Woodland Hills, attempted to send 13 fake anthrax letters to the aforementioned victims starting in September. We say "attempted" because the first letter, which contained the message, "Do you know Alan Berg? You should. Death to demagogues," and a harmless white powder, was sent to a poor sap on the Upper West Side named Jon Stewart—but not that Jon Stewart. (Alan Berg is the Jewish talk-radio host murdered by white-supremacists in Denver in 1984.)

Not to worry—according to the affidavit, Castagana sent back-up letters to Stewart's office at Comedy Central and his actual home address. All bore return addresses from left-leaning luminaries like Norman Lear, Susan Estrich and ... William Shatner.

One of the Stewart letters featured a "picture of a recently deceased tsunami victim with a condition known as Priapism, an erect penis on a cadaver." Handwritten on the picture were the words, "Jon Stewart, Fuck Your Wife."

Stay Classy, Katherine Harris supporters!

Here are some of Castagana's other white-powder MASH notes:

To Olbermann: "There are too many demagogues in America. All of you are poisoning the well! Time to give your kind a taste of your own medicine."

To Redstone: "Fuck You Mr Monopolist "

To Letterman: "more then one way to frag a demagogue... your kind are the real poison "

To Pelosi: "CUNTFACE. IMPEACH THIS."

None of the letters contained biohazardous substances. According to the affidavit, the feds tracked Castagana down by tracing the purchases of the Ready Post envelopes he used to mail the letters, two of which were purchased at a Woodland Hills post office on the same day letters to Stewart and Olbermann were postmarked.

Calls to the campaign office of Harris, who lost her bid for Senate last week, went unreturned.

55. yeah. he was kind of a fan of watching lots of sci-fi then bitching about
all the liberal stuff about it. i know it's confusing but he's completely insane. he would watch hours of sci-fi then write reviews about how all of sci-fi was multi-cultural psuedo-evolutionary liberal garbage. then watch more.

my presumption is that he saw Shatner as an embodiment of a tolerant liberal who united cultures or something. . . though to understand his rationale probably means one's completely bonkers as well. . . so i'll be happy if im off the mark.

29. This is bordering on censorship
I agree with you, but I am not willing to censor certain things when reporting news. The thread title caught my eye since I did not know the terrorist used those words in his threat. It adds a whole new dimension to my assessment of the situation.

On the other hand, if CatWoman agreed with the sentiment, then I'd be hitting the alert button.

Hey freepers, you know all those new policies that you thought were just peachy because "they only apply to terrorists" and people who communicate with terrorists? Well, guess what? You've been communicating with a TERRORIST! Lol! Better call your lawyers now because you might not get that chance under the "new rules." Oh, and watch what you say on the phone...

38. Could it be this "Arthur Finkelstein?"
Arthur J. Finkelstein (born 1946) is a United States Republican Party political operative. He has directed a series of campaigns, considered to be quite successful, to elect conservatives in the United States and Israel in the past 25 years. He runs Arthur J. Finkelstein and Associates, a political consulting firm based in Irvington, New York, which handles his clients. He is widely known for being a gay Republican who has worked for politicians who have taken anti-homosexual political positions.

<snip>

In 1996, Boston Magazine outed Finkelstein as a homosexual in a feature story. In April 2005, Finkelstein acknowledged that in December, 2004, he had married his long time partner in a civil ceremony at his home in Massachusetts.<4> This prompted former President Bill Clinton to state that "I thought, one of two things. Either this guy believes his party is not serious, and is totally Machiavellian in his position, or there's some sort of self-loathing there. I was more sad for him."<5>

41. MORE on this *mysterious* character from CNN (circa 1996):
NEW YORK (AllPolitics, Oct. 10) -- He is the stuff of Hollywood: A man who can topple even the most powerful foes, yet so secretive that few have ever seen him. As actor Kevin Spacey said in "The Usual Suspects," "I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Kaiser Sose."

Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein's style has been compared to Hollywood's villainous character, Sose, who was so secretive that some doubted whether he really existed. There has only been one photo of Finkelstein to surface during 20 years of consulting Republican candidates. Even his Westchester County, N.Y., office doesn't bear his name.

<snip>

Finkelstein's signature style emerges through the ads he creates. Two recent adds brand Democrats as liberals: "Call liberal Paul Wellstone. Tell him it's wrong to spend billions more on welfare," one ad states.

"That's liberal," says another. "That's Jack Reed. That's wrong. Call liberal Jack Reed and tell him his record on welfare is just too liberal for you."

"That's the Finkelstein formula: just brand somebody a liberal, use the word over and over again, engage in that kind of name-calling," said Democratic consultant Mark Mellman.

The August issue of Boston Magazine revealed something that might have surprised some of Finkelstein's more conservative clients: he's homosexual. In his Massachusetts mansion, he lives with his long-time partner and their two adopted children. Stephen Rodrick, now with Philadelphia Magazine, wrote the article.

60. Why is Mr. Finkelstein separate from the other (I'll call them) possible victims?
Under IV: Items to be Seized, i. reads:

Newspaper clippings, pictures, correspondence and collages of pictures and clippings related to Jon Stewart, Keith Olbermann, David Letterman, Bob Woodward, Sumner Redstone, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, and Senator Charles Schumer

o. reads:

Paperwork and documents relating to A. Finkelstein (.....)

What possible paperwork or documents are they looking for? The items listed in (i.) seem to be of a stalker/celebrity nature. But the (o.) seems to be more specific.

This could be nothing, but for some reason, my curiosity was piqued.

Chad the terrorist never posted any "left wing" rhetoric of any kind, anywhere. :eyes:

63. Guess he's probably not a "DU operative" then
...and joined FR simply because he and his terroristic tendencies felt quite at home there. Quelle surprise.

67. perhaps its a messed up way of saying anti-left-wing
it makes more sense when thought of that way. as in rhetoric professing hatred of the left-wing.

68. Though it's oddly worded, I think it
means anti-left wing rhetoric---hate rhetoric against the left-wing. Just as in the same context they might have said Jewish hate literature and meant anti-Semitic.

73. But they didn't say Jewish literature...
I dunno, maybe you're right, but if so, it's not only an odd way of saying it, but it's inconsistent within the same sentence.

dozens of them.

78. I don't know whether to laugh at, despise, or pity this guy
He's sickly delusional and a product of his environment. Hateful and deluded.

Reminds me of Nietzsche: this clown looked long into (what he perceived as) the abyss and became something far worse.
