More CNN Bizarro world - can't believe what I am hearing....
Candy Lover Crowley, Anderson 360, and some fellow from Newsweek - talking about some new poll where the "majority of the people" are concerned that...(1) the Dems are not going to give the president what he needs to keep us safe from terrorists, and (2) the Dems will want us out of Iraq too quickly. This is such a McCain set up segment.....saying that what the people will not tolerate is us pulling out and all hell breaking out in Iraq. WTF - all hell IS breaking loose over there! Only issue is we are losing our good people in the process.

And all of this with the election still radiating on the TV after turning it off, it is so recent - and a few months before the power shifts.

I just can't fathom it, I don't get it. What is the media doing? Creating news....opining - they are not accurately reporting news...they are just creating buzz for themselves....

What is going on - is McCain singlehandedly footing the bill for the media? Or is it ABD - anything but Dems - for the media....

Help me here - I just can't get the gist of all of this "Dems have no plan" stuff....and, after all isn't it Bush's war? Isn't he still the president? Aren't the ideas and solutions supposed to be up to the president???

2. Ummm
I hate to tell you this, but the Dems don't seem to actually have a coherant plan. Some Dems haves plans, but they are all competing plans.

The Dems were elected because people wanted the Repubs out. Not because they wanted the Dems in.

12. well you certainly got the talking points down
I'd say the Dems plan was honesty and competence
there is no easy way out of Iraq, as the GOP has learned. and there is one portion of the Dem plan I approve, and that's enacting the 911 commission's recommendations. securing our ports is a big part of the Dem plan

16. If you say so..
"Honesty" isn't a coherant plan though.

Also having 30 different plans about how to do something isn't a plan either.

Of course it's easier to attack critics than admit that the Democrats really have no plan.

Nowhere did I say the Republicans were better, rather I am simply saying that it is in fact true that the Democrats as a group have no overall plan. Everything the Democrats put out this election cycle was "It's time for a change" or "Hey, Republicans are evil"; there general message was "We are not the Republicans!"

15. a large majority
of the voters agree with the Democratic ideas about their domestic priorities i.e. raising minimum wage, health care etc. They also voted for the Dems for those reasons. And you think the repugs plan is coherent???? Stay the course? We're getting our ass whipped.

18. Hrrm...
But yet in most states where a gay marriage ban was passed, democrats won. So either the Democratic party is highly anti-gay or right wingers voted Democrat to get the corrupt Republicans out of office. You pick an answer to that one.

Once again, I never said the Republicans were right or had a plan, I simply sad the Dems ran on a platform of "we have no plan, but we are not the Republicans"

3. CNN bizarro world- LOL.
That's why I programmed the channel off of my TV. I grew weary of bizarro world during the 2000 elections. When people look me right in the eyes and lie to me- or subborn and enable liars- well, let's just say, I'll find my "news" elsewhere.

And urge others to do the same. There's a reason why their ratings suck.

...but bloviate. They make any speculation to keep viewers tuned in. It's all about the ratings.

Until the next Congress, I take everything with a grain of salt.

5. Are they pointing to any poll in particular for that "majority of the people"?
or are they merely pulling that assertion out of their butts?

Because if Iraq was the main issue this election, and the Dems mostly won, then it would follow that a majority of people would like us to set some sort of timetable.

Funny how their words apparently echo what the Iraqis' are supposedly saying. Sounds like a meme in the making, doesn't it.

6. Geez, I don't usually have CNN on but
it was on in the kitchen. Did you get the part about McCain, how he is setting this up to be the only one who is right in '08? * is wrong in stay the course, the dems could create a mess pulling out and then he can say 'I told you so.' He's the one being forward thinking.
Where is he going to get all these troops from? They didn't ask that did they.

8. They've got to gin up something for people to want to watch CNN
They had to make it sound like the election was going to be nip and tuck to keep people tuning in. They have advertising to sell.
And if news is slow, why not just make some up? They are in competition with Fux after all.

9. Another example of spin
There are about four or five republicans wanting to take Hastert's place. Boehner, Blunt some guy from Texas and so on....Blitzer call's it a horse race.....then Murtha is challenging Hoyer for the Majority whip and Blitzer says there is division between the democrats.

Explain this one.

13. You only need to consider one issue
the Dems have stated that they intend to look at the telecom act of '94 and to reform it. The big media hogs could be screwed if the correct amendments are made to that flawed bill.

no longer even info-tainment. It's like food,...the closer you are to the 'source' the cleaner or more healthy it is. I like to think of the information I choose to imbibe in the same manner...coming from the horse's mouth rather than a horse's ass.
