I live in Denver. When campaign time came around last year, I was so excited. It was the first campaign that I became so active. I felt like putting more Democrats in office here in Colorado was of the utmost importance.
I am not a wealthy man. Although educated, my job is blue collar. Every cent is important to our budget in my household. And because of that...so is my time.
That's why, after spending WEEKS of MY spare time phonebanking and canvassing neighborhood after neighborhood for you, I am so upset. I can pick up more work at anytime. Yet I passed on it to help YOU get in office. And ask your aides at your office. The ones that talked to me today can tell you that I'm so angry, I'm on the verge of tears.
You fucking owe me. I worked my ass off for you...and you spit in my face. If I wanted a Republican in office, I would've devoted my time to them.
Grow a set of balls and SHUT THEM DOWN!!!
Signed,
Buddyblazon

And absolutely not. I WILL NOT TONE IT DOWN! I have every right to be a raving lunatic. After months of him NOT doing what we here in CO voted him for, I just realized that I was hornswoggled.
That man received nearly a hundred hours of my FREE time! I am sick and tired of "friendly dems".
Enough is enough. Everytime he came through the office, I'd stop and smile in awe. Just like the rest of us suckers. What an idealistic idiot I was.
Well screw him...and if you don't like it...screw you too.

My Dearest Senator,
As I spent much of my alloted recreation/work time devoted to your inspiring endeavor during the last campaign, I humbly (and mildly and little milquetoast-like) request that you support the good ol' fashioned right to a lenghty debate.
I am so excited to see you stand side by side the other elected Democrats to support the lengthy tradition of the filibuster.
Hoo-raw good sir...hoo-raw.
Signed,
Another limp-dick milque-toast motherfucker built in your likeness,
Buddyblazon

11. So much for a reasonable medium |

Only fanatics think like you, sir. If it's not "FUCK YOU YOU DESPICABLE BASTARD!!!!!!" then it's "Your humble servant, etc." Those are your only two options, in your mind. I wonder if anyone ever listens to you at all. Your strategy is a failure, that's for sure.

14. Hey...I already told you I didn't send it.... |
|
what is your issue? I wrote it on here out of anger. Because on here I can generally express my anger without someone acting like I'm unreasonable. One poster said I should use a punching bag before sending it. Well...this place IS my punching bag.
I understand if you never get angry (or if you do nothing about your anger).
And I also understand why we as Democrats are not being listened to. Because too many of us feel the need to be prim and proper.
Did you see Kennedy speech on the floor yesterday? If it weren't against the rules, I'm sure he would've cursed in that speech. So much passion. I just don't remember seeing another Dem so fed up as the Senator looked yesterday.
If you would like to continue down the same path until they're not afraid to label you a "traitor and terrorist" by all means, continue with your subservant attitude.
I for one would like the Republicans and our Congress people that let them trample all over us to know...I for one will not stand for it.

15. Look at all your faulty assumptions |
|
1) That I do nothing about my anger 2) That I want to be prim and proper 3) That I want to continue down the same path
BZZZZT BZZZZT BZZZZT
Hey pal, all I said was that it was a bad letter that ain't gonna get you anywhere. You wanna keep making false assumptions and insulting me, more power to ya, but it's still a bad letter that will accomplish jack shit. How me saying that tranlates into me wanting to be prim and proper is a mystery. I want, above all, to be effective. That doesn't necessarily mean being "prim and proper" whatever the fuck that means, but it does require that one read situations for what is possible rather than merely spouting off half-cocked, which mostly gets nothing done and strikes me as childish.

7. But he's not supporting the filibuster |

He thinks that just by saying no that he's done his job.
He's a wimp. And I helped him get in office. What the hell does that make me?

Not good enough. So he's voting no. He still wasn't willing to put up a fight to keep Alito off the court.

10. I sent a similar letter last year after the bankruptcy bill passed, |
|
& after he confirmed Rice & voted for some other really bad legislation. I sent it to them in one of their postage paid contribution envelopes & told him basically the same thing. No response, but they did take me off their mailing list.
Send the letter. Fuck Salazar. Fucking dino.

12. sincere and to the point |
|
but I would tone it down a bit (you fucking owe me --is not a good line--suggests revenge (don't go there). I would add a sentence about Alito and how Salazar is a sell-out because of this. The Dinos need to know we are paying attention and we DO understand what this Alito vote means, and that we are NOT happy. Gotta indicate that we understand the issues. but it is important to control anger to the point that you will be heard. These people instantly reject any expression of anger they see as too extreme (he'll just think, 'well I don't need THAT guy'....). I am going to give a few Dinos a piece of my mind too but I have learned (through journalism) that you have to come off as 'within the mainstream' to a certain extent when withdrawing support. Otherwise you just get further rejection. I would punch a punching bag (or other way to blow off steam) before rewriting it. Then send it.

16. That lickspittle doesn't represent me at all |
|
Nor he represents you. He represents DLC and I never wanted him after the state party shoved him on ahead of my choice, Mike Miles. I met Mike at a DFA meeting two years ago. He represents the integrity and the balls to take on the Pukes, and yet he was unceremoniously shoved aside by the DLC Colo Dem Party in favor of Salazar. I am proven right again and again when he waffles and betrays my people in the home state of Colorado.
Never again. Time to raid the Colo Dem Party on Santa Fe Dr., throw the DLC pukes out the street, and replace with true progressive Dems who has the guts to challenge Repukes heads on. Like Mike Miles.
Colorado was once known as a very populist state. Lets make it one again!
