I just found that out. Maybe it's okay, but it seems kind of creepy to me.

***

Giuliani's first marriage was to his cousin and childhood sweetheart, Regina Peruggi, to whom he was married from 1969 to 1982.

1. yes, he also dumped wife #2 on national television
and the Right Wing Primary voters wont like it that he stayed with a gay couple after he separated from wife #2.

3. So was FDR's. Out of curiousity, which cousin?
It's not like there's a huge risk of birth defects or anything like that when you speak of cousins marrying.

I still think it's kind of icky, but I remember reading some statistics which indicated that the increase in birth defects due to cousins marrying was negligible.

4. I don't know how often it occurs..
but around 20 states have no prohibitions on first cousins marrying including NYS, MA, CA as well as several southern states.

Still strange that the "liberal media" hasn't made a big deal of this. :sarcasm:

7. Well, it's New York, so it would probably be dueling street corner du-wop groups
But yeh, Rudy's gonna carry a lot of baggage into the primary season. They understand his marital problems in New York and Nevada--I suspect Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina will be less forgiving of his record of having a live in mistress at Gracie Mansion.
