Anti-gay stance cost Kelly
By Brendan Scott

Times Herald-Record
November 14, 2006
Hell hath no fury like a wealthy constituent scorned.

An openly gay real estate developer, incensed over Rep. Sue Kelly's support for a ban on gay marriage, says he bankrolled a barrage of attack ads by a Washington-based political nonprofit that Kelly blames for her apparent loss last week.

Adam Rose, 47, who lives in Cross River, near Kelly's hometown of Katonah, says he funneled more than $500,000 to the Democratic group Majority Action after Kelly refused to change her position on the gay marriage issue.

Sue Kelly said she opposed gay marriage cause onion farmers and Hassidic jews didn't support gay marriage. Both groups supported Hall in the end!

11. Yep...blame it on the onion farmers.
Always the fault of those conservative, intollerant onion farmers.
When will people stop blaming the onion farmers for everything.:sarcasm:

Maybe they threatened to pelt her house, car and office with onions if she didn't oppose gay marriage.

on note: Her excuse for her vote is quite possibly the most pathetic and ridiculous thing I have heard in a long time.

5. As a resident of the NY 19th ...
Let me say FU to Sue Kelly. You should have listened to us. We have been telling you for years what we wanted, but you were just a bushco/Delay puppet. John Hall will serve us well. I am hoping his threat to serve only two terms is bs and we can keep him around longer.

6. He only promised to serve two terms?
That sucks, but then again if he runs for a third he will look like a hypocrite (didn't he criticize Kelly for breaking a term limit pledge?)

He said he thinks two terms are enough and then other citizens should get involved.

Is this some kind of RW ragsheet?

U.S. House - District 19 - 622 of 626 Precincts Reporting
Name Party Votes Pct
Hall, John Dem 94,524 51.15
Kelly, Sue (i) GOP 90,269 48.85

4 of 626 precincts != >4200 votes! You lost, Sore Loserwoman!

Meanwhile, Cokie Roberts was dissing Hall on Snuffleupagus: "The only issue was Iraq...Sue Kelly, a moderate Republican, lost to the leader of the Orleans band!"

12. I'm sure you, like I, have read the many articles
on the immense political clout of the dreaded "Onion Lobby"

Their power eclipses even that of the NRA, NARAL and the Christian Coalition combined.

What was the woman to do?
Flaunt the power of the nations largest, wealthiest, most powerful lobby in the history of mankind? The poor dolt...er...woman was at their mercy.:sarcasm:

on note:
ms kelly your excuse qualifies for a :wtf:

your tenure qualifies for a

your whining :nopity:

and your defeat

13. Actually, in Orange County, NY, in the "black dirt" region, they have clout.
Still, it's odd to think of them as a political bloc.
