It's not a place where you or anybody is free to say whatever they want.
Many of the complaints that irk you have to do with those rules and
their interpretation. That's what the moderation is about.
It's also a Progressive forum and those rules are in part an attempt
to influence how posters here communicate to & about other people.
A lot of those rules have specifically to do with treating & writing
about other people in a less prejudiced and more humane way. DU
is not a Borat movie. You and everybody here are bound by those rules.
The rules are set by the admins but influenced by the membership. Sorry
if I'm taking you or your complaint too seriously, but if you really want this place to be a truly purely free speech site where anybody could
join and stay and say whatever they wanted, it would be total unadulterated chaos in about five minutes. Peace.
