Self-described "blue dog Democrat" "old Southern Style democrat"

Ed said 30 "moderate Dems" endorsed Hoyer??

I remember Shuler jerseys in New Orleans for a very short while. I'm glad he got elected but we don't need "old southern style dems" in congress. Surely he's not old enough to know what that really means.

4. A former Senator of mine was one of the greatest
J. William Fulbright. There is a huge statue of him on the University of Arkansas Campus in Fayetteville.

When I hear Old Style Southern Dem my mind sees klan robes.

3. Shuler used to be the Redskins Quarterback only four Quarterbacks ago.
The Redskins are huge in Virginia and North Carolina for some reason.

Explains why Allen, an "old Southern style Republican" (??) got elected, I guess. Then folks realized he was merely the SON of Redskins coach George Allen Sr. So they voted for Webb instead.

Webb is a populist, BTW. I don't know if Shuler counts as a populist or merely a conservative democrat.

and conservative on social issues.
