Abramoff Reports to Prison Tomorrow; Offers Testimony on Democratic Senators
Abramoff Reports to Prison Tomorrow; Offers Testimony on Democratic Senators
November 14, 2006 4:13 PM

Brian Ross and Rhonda Schwartz Report:

Convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff is scheduled to report to federal prison tomorrow, over the objections of federal prosecutors who say they still need his help to pursue leads on officials he allegedly bribed.

Sources close to the investigation say Abramoff has provided information on his dealings with and campaign contributions and gifts to "dozens of members of Congress and staff," including what Abramoff has reportedly described as "six to eight seriously corrupt Democratic senators."

The sources say Abramoff was about to provide information about Bush administration officials, including Karl Rove, "accepting things of value" from Abramoff.

Rove has denied any wrongdoing in his dealings with Abramoff. But the lobbyist visited the White House at least seven times, according to Secret Service logs obtained by Judicial Watch.

2. Name them.
If Abramoff truly had the goods on "six to eight seriously corrupt Democratic senators" don't you think their names would have been broadcast in an endless loop for the past several months?

It's when it's proven to be quid pro quo that you gotta worry.

3. ROFL!!!
Yeah, right. Why the fuck would he have anything to do w/ Dem Senators? They had NO power whatsoever.

What a load of bullshit, but then again, this IS from ABC.

ABC=The new Fox.

10. This my answer
Supposedly, after Jeffords defected, the Republicans held the minority for a while. A lot of D's voted under the cover of "bi-partisanship"

I think that Abramoff will be useful. It'll help clean our own house.

17. Those Senators were Dems just like Mark Foley was.
I suspect it's another case of media "party-switching". Expect to see names like "Conrad Burns(D-MT)" on Faux and in your local fishwrapping.

If he does have something on any actual Dems, is it wrong to hope that one of them is Lieberman?

19. Yeah
The shipping CAN be subject to change if we push hard enough to clean our own house, probably catch a few DLCers which would be a windfall. Slap the shit out of Republicans doublely hard.

The voters want accountability and they want it now.

14. Do we know who's actually in charge of this Abramoff investigation?
I know it's the FBI, but is there a name or several names of who's putting all his info together?

the name of Patrick Fitzgerald is instantly associated with Libby, but I can't recall ever hearing who is handling Jack.

24. just a thought
doesn't he know if its 6 or 8? Everything I have heard all through this thing has said it purely a repub thing and the emails I read that where made public made it pretty clear they where not out to give any dem any money they wanted the Dems broken and gone...

If it where true I would hope dem or repub they are held accountable...but I really doubt it.

29. Why didn't this come out before the election?
Odd timing....Abramoff could have thrown that out to the media a month before the election and helped his Republican buds...regardless of the ultimate veracity of the charge. Quite strange, really.
