Can any DUers give me any advice or tips to buying software

or downloading software on the internet?

I need some desktop publishing software and I was wondering if freeware might be an option. What do you think? Thanks, in advance for your input!

4. I'm going to be another vote for OpenOffice.

You can open, use and save all of the Microsoft Office formats, as well as OpenOffice's own. However, if you are looking specifically for desktop publishing software and money isn't an object, Adobe's InDesign is good stuff.

There can only be one: Scribus.

Make sure you read the page and download Ghostscript and install it first. Then install Scribus.

It is a very nice program.

I downloaded and I am trying out OpenOffice.org.

I like it alot, so far. I'll play with it for a week or twoand see how friendly itis.
