There is no runway 9 westbound. It is an impossible number - Runway 9 is oriented to approximately 90 degrees, or east. The other end of it would be labeled as runway 27, or westbound, at 270 degrees.

Dallas/Fort Worth has seven runways, not including any combination with a Runway 9:

Runways are 17L/35R, 17C/35C, 17R/35L, 18L/36R, 18R/36L, 13L/31R, and 13R/31L.

Yes it does seem to be anti-Muslim and therefore offensive - not only to Muslim co-workers, but to anyone who believes in human dignity.

But let's not forget - John Kerry thinks it's OK to tell jokes (or rather - try to tell them) about the Iraq War (while he is at work), and make fun of people who don't "make an effort to be smart".

If there is a regular pattern of hate-filled mails, then definitely raise concerns with your HR dept.

But if you make a big deal out of this one joke - you are risking some negative consequences for yourself. People saying you're a "politically correct a$$-wipe" and "not a team player" (a label that's not easy to shake-off).

I actually think it's OK to make clear to the person who sent it - that you don't find it funny, and help them to understand why it's not funny.
