3. and the really funny thing about that argument |
|
is that it doesn't fucking matter how many Dems served in Vietnam or in the military at all.
They are the party of war, not us.
If there are Dems who didn't serve, that's fine with me, because they opposed that bullshit anyway.
But any Republican who hasn't served active duty in the military is a pathetic fucking disgrace. Especially those who could have but chose not to go to Vietnam, a war they supported.

10. I long ago concluded that the concept of hypocrisy is beyond the right. |
|
It's like hypocrisy is so ingrained in what passes as their thought process that it has come to be seen as a virtue.

2. surely by now you know how the RW echo chamber works |
|
nothing they say has to actually be true. It just has to be agreed upon by a group of FReepers and at least 3 RW media personalities, or confirmed in at least two chain emails.

Makes me wonder about the large numbers of people who believe the bible to be 100% factually correct who also eagerly believe each and every lie from the right.
Hmm...

4. Oh so now military service is important to them |
|
I'm gonna go out on a limb here but I bet that poster has never served in any branch either. And when offered a ride to the army recruiting station he would shit his pants.
Young republicans in the 70's (cheney, rove, etc) were all for war as long as someone else was dying.
I'm too pissed at the cowards to continue this rant.

7. The price of leadership. |
|
We're in charge of Congress. Our leaders will be subjected to this until leadership changes. Calling the critics hypocrites won't get it done. Either accept the fact that they are correct in their comments (and, it appears, none of the new Senate leaders served in the military) or be prepared to dismantle their arguments. Justifying our leaders' behavior because those sorry GOP leaders acted similarly just will not cut it.

Wouldn't he have been in his late 30s during Vietnam? And Patty Murray... I thought Freeps were against women in combat...

Some whack-job woman called into Hannity's show the other day, and thought the way the Repukes could win would be for Sean and Rush and Fox News to go to Iraq and interview our troops and ask them whether they wanted to stay in Iraq and how "disappointed" they were that the Democrats had won.
She felt if Sean and Rush could get enough troops to say they were sorry that the Democrats won, it would destroy the Democrat(sic) Party. Hannity agreed that it may be a good idea and he would look into it.
About two callers later someone pointed out the large number of Gulf War veterans that ran as Democrats in this election. Left Hannity pretty speechless.
