13. It's not unbelievable that he would vote in such a chicken-shit
manner. It's unbelievable that the good people of Conn. continue to elect this cowardly jackass.

Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 05:13 PM by ooglymoogly
lieberman will now vote against alito knowing it won't mean anything and that alito will be confirmed but for the record he will have voted against alito.

15. I believe that the Alito voting list will be the blue print for the
future politicians who want to get elected and kick the Republicans out. I believe that the day will come when the Alito supporters will be very sorry that their names are permanently affixed to the
list that put the man in who allowed the Constitution to be ruled null and void. All the new candidates will have to do is hold up the list with the opponents name, "YES ALITO".

And for all those people who want to tell woman that they can't end a pregnancy, the wonderfully world of chemistry within 20 yrs will provide such fool proof and simple protection from unwanted pregnancies that all of the weeping and wailing about abortion will have become moot. And one more little "kicker", every child born in America will know that it's parents wanted it to be born. Oh, and one more "little" thing. In 50 years, life expectancy will have jumped to 140 yrs or more. That will force the issue about unwanted pregnancies.

11. You need to be pissed at more than Lieberman!
the vote was 72-25! that means 18 Dems + Reid voted for cloture.

I know Leiberman has sided with the Pubs often, but this time it's not only him!

12. Time to go, Joe
go to http://nedlamont.com and help dump Joe

Copy of an email I sent Joe this afternoon:

Dear Joe:

Thanks for your help in getting us into a pointless war that has killed 30,000 Iraqis and over 2200 American kids. Thanks also for helping the Bush crime family turn a trillion dollar surplus into a trillion dollar deficit. And thanks especially for your cowardly reluctance to oppose the selection of Mr. Alito to the increasingly right-wing Supreme Court.

To show my appreciation, I have just signed up to help Ned Lamont kick your sorry ass out of Washington in November.

Sincerely,
a (real) Democrat

16. His name is Ned Lamont
Web site is http://www.nedlamont.com/

He's taking pledges right now, not donations. Ned hasn't formally launched his campaign yet. That's expected around the end of March or early April.

17. Lieberman just gave Ned another boost to his campaign
In a way, I'm surprised that Lieberman voted for cloture. He must have known that there were not enough votes to guarentee a filibuster, so he could have played tricks on Lamont's budding campaign by voting against cloture. But then again, maybe the Dems were closer to a filibuster than what the final vote showed and Lieberman feared actually having to help carry out that threat.

20. Regarding Joementum. My husband, who became an
American citizen in 1999, just said to me "I can't believe I wasted a vote on the m*thef*cker in my first vote", and we don't even live in CT.

BTW, I agree with him totally. Joe was a totally wasted vote for VP in 2000.
