List constructive ways to show your anger to the cloture-Dems
I'm looking for constructive ways to show my anger. I'm not leaving the party, but I'll be damned if I let this go by unprotested.

4. agreed.
They need to see angry voters face to face, away from the safe 'n comfy confines of their senate offices!

Most of them sponsor town hall meetings. Check on your senator's website to find the next appearance, get a huge group together and show up and be heard. Be disruptive, what the hell! Shut down the machine!

6. let them know
I'm going to to sending letters to my turncoat senators letting them know that I will never campaign for them and will instead be putting my time and money into electing real democrats to local offices. Time to rebuild the party from the ground up.

9. I'm taping a list of all the Dems who voted for cloture to my screen
I will first start by notifying them that they do not represent me or any other Democrat. I will tell them that every time this Alito fucker votes against Americans and for corporations, or votes to destroy our country's freedom, or votes to give more power to the fucking right wing, they will be getting a very pointed reminder from me of what their cowardice has wrought. I will tell them that I will ACTIVELY seek out their truly progressive opponents and donate money to their campaigns. They will pay for their selfishness and greed. Voting no tomorrow makes no difference if they weren't willing to stand up today. Motherfuckers.

12. Grace
Can I have that list please?

PS - I am actually thinking of changing to the Independent party. If we could get a majority to shift to the I's - we could show our party and the Pug's what we think of both of them. I feel betrayed tonight.

13. Take Down Lieberman
Unless the Jellyfish of the Democratic Party think they won't lose their offices, they'll keep ignoring the grass roots, listen to loser "advisors," and bend over backwards so dweebs like Tweety will flatter them with sweet nothings.

Voting out Lieberman and voting IN his replacement sends a clear and resounding message that there are consequences WITHIN THE PARTY to ignoring us. We now know thanks to Dean that opponents do NOT need corporate money to challenge them and match them penny for penny, and we now need to start merging that fundraising capabilities with candidates who DO carry our our vision -- and voting out weak leaders who will not fight even with polling and the base behind their back.

Make Lieberman the pelt on Alito and pin it up on EVERY Democratic office who voted against closure today.

Losing power might be all that they understand, so it's up to US to get them to lose it.

19. You are right
Dino Joe has got to go. I think he needs to go alright. Besides that creating a target is worthy in itself.

But Dino Joe needs to be hit like the American retailation of bombing Tokoyo as a first priority after Pearl Harbor.

Joe has got to go. He is a scourge on the country. There are others, but he is the top of my list.

23. As well as Chafee, Snowe and Collins
There is absolutely no reason that Senators from those states should be voting in any way to put Alito on the Court. It's time that people like Chafee, Snowe and Collins received as much scorn, derision and opposition as people like Lieberman.

And both Lieberman and Chafee are up for re-election this year. Donate to their opponents- even if it's only $5, and send them a copy of the check as was mentioned upthread.

Why don't we have postcards printed up with a huge red coathanger on it, with the greeting on the reverse some snarky message like AMERICAN WOMEN WILL DIE BECAUSE OF YOUR VOTE.

We could send those puppies out by the thousands....is anyone here a printer? I'd sure contribute to the cost.

29. Don;t guarantee them your vote
Do whsat you want in the votiong booth, but we have to make them stop taking their "base" for granted.

To do that, we need to make clear in large numbers that a D after the name does not automatrically guarantee a captive electorate.

33. 1. Let the DSCC know they'll get no money from you, EVER.
2. Tell the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee to take you off their lists, and to never contact you again, and copy the Senators who voted for cloture.

3. Tell them you'll support any primary candidate who challenges those quislings at their next election.

4. Tell them they can forget any support from groups in which you are active, now and forever.

5. And finally, tell them to forget ever being on the national ticket.
