Red State DU'ers - You might want to move to a blue state

I think what is going to happen is that states are going to become very individualistic in terms of civil rights, social policy, health care...

The federal governmen is being disassembled.

I think the best bet (short of leaving the state entirely) will be to go to a blue state.

Quality of life will be dependent (somewhat) on if you are in a blue or red state.

Massachusetts is in the process of making our health care system a single payer system.

I am going to be a delegate for the progressive Governor's canidate. I am putting my energy into my state.

Massachusetts is a nice state. Great senators, too.

1. Sorry - we're committed to turning at least one red state blue
Namely, Texas.

Home of LBJ, Ann Richards, and Molly Ivins.

Y'all gotta believe.

2. I'm staying in Alaska
We may be red, but at least we're Libertarian red. Secession is sounding better and better all the time.

3. Sorry, we tried that. "States Rule" will only apply to things like
outlawing abortion.

When a state like California wants to say that cancer-ridden grannies can light a joint to ease the pain of chemo, it's a completely different story.

8. Too true
unfortunately -- the pukes never wanted "States' Rights." They just wanted to become authoritarian overlords.

6. Nope
All that red/blue stuff is nonsense. There are like-minded people everywhere, and it's long past time to stop discounting them.

You obviously have a lot of energy and passion (which I appreciate) so why waste it in an obviously liberal state like Massachusetts?

Move to Idaho. There's a challenge! :o

17. I can attest to that.
I live in Idaho.

I will say, though, that the Ada County Democrats are getting galvanized.

9. That day is coming...
The day my red state makes abortion illegal after Roe is overturned, I will refuse to pay state taxes to an entity that considers me breeding stock, some kind of government property.

On that day - I'm out of here, back to California, where at least I won't be funding my christian overlords.

10. There is a really good chance to turn Missouri blue this year
After the dunderheads have screwed it up, even the rednecks that came out in support of babydic blunt are feeling the pain and have a bitter taste in their mouth, so I'll be staying here for a while.
At least until I'm disappeared.

11. Massachusetts is cold. Texas is warm. Sorry, but I wish you well.
Texas wasn't built by people who cut and run from a fight just because they're outnumbered by tyrants. Of course it wasn't built by my family either, since we moved here in 1970. But my point is that this is my home and anyone who says run away can just suck away. I feel the same about the buttermouths who every four years say they'll move out of the country if the Republican wins. Glue on some feathers, cause you ain't no donkey. We stay, we stand, we fight--and about half the time we go down in flames. It happens. But the country, goddammit, is bigger than one stupid election gone to the bad guys.

Freedom is a process that requires constant work. We're lucky enough to live in an age when fighting for freedom means making phone calls and talking neighbors into voting your way, not grabbing a musket and firing slowly at a phalanx of redcoats. Appreciate that. Accept that Texas is Republican, not Satanic, and quit trying to talk me into moving to a place where it snows.

12. Mine's actually got a bill for universal healthcare. Does any blue state?
This is a personal issue for me. I don't know if it will pass here, but if it does, it would be hard to leave the state just for that reason.

18. Sounds Good To Me, Except Its Even Colder In MA Than Here In Ohio
But its also a lot prettier, too. I really have had just about all I can take of it here, though so, you never know.
