Shall we gather at the crack house?
What is the latest on Brother Teddy Haggard? Is he back out in Colorado dealing dope? Will he get away with drug trafficking like every other well to do GOP misleader has gotten away with it? Is Meth the secret ingredient in Teddy's "Jerusalem Diet," that he's written a book about?

You are what you eat Teddy!

1. Is it pot-luck crack, or are we ordering in?
Cuz I've got great recipe for Mexican crystal meth dip you make in a Crock-Pot. Goes great with Tostitos and hot male-on-male sex in a motel room.

Or should I say "Crack-Pot"?

3. Now turn to "PAGE" no 1...
Shall we gather at the crack house

Shall we gather at the crack house,
with some angel dust and pot,
with its crystal tide forever
flowing by the throne in wads?

Refrain:

Yes, we'll gather at the crack house,
the beautiful, the beautiful crack house;
gather with the pimps at the crack house
And party till we gets caught.

8. Hey guy
I think it would sound better if you replaced the word beautiful with dilapadated or rundown. Never know any crackhead to live in a beautiful home. Oh and just for future reference... crack is smoked (that's what makes it so deadly) while cocain is snorted.. most crack heads can't afford cocain. I've never been a user, but I have had the misfortune of knowing a crack head or two in my life.

other than that.. great take on the hymn.

10. I don't know anything about the stuff other than that It really ruins
Edited on Fri Nov-17-06 09:54 AM by Hubert Flottz
people's lives when they let IT CONTROL THEM, just like many other drugs, even some legal drugs, will. But the way I look at that is, if it don't hurt anyone else, but the user, it's the user's business. I just hope the Rev. Teddy Haggard wasn't teaching the kids at youth camp how to make, or use the stuff.

11. I know... I try to live by the same motto

but the lives I've seen ruined (not just the users) by crack has touched me personally. I mean when your own sister cares more about getting a rock than she does her own babies and abandons them just to get high and wake up later in a ditch on the side of a road somewhere.. it kinda gives you a different perspective.

She's been hit over the head with beer bottles and woken up face down in a ditch, her face is cut and scared up from fighting... she has sold her ass for money...been jailed for prostitution (and I suspect but have no proof, that she has allowed her "men friends" abuse her daughters in the past). She manipulates her family and accuses us of not caring because none of us can afford to bail her out of trouble any longer. The stress she causes our mother (who has had two strokes) is slowly killing her and lately, I've begun to think that the day we get the call telling us that she has been found dead somewhere.. will actually be a relief. And I can't tell you how awful I feel for thinking that.

My life hasn't been touched yet by any meth users, but I understand it is every bit as devastating as crack.

I wasn't criticizing you in my last post.. it sounded like you really didn't know and I just wanted to share that little bit of info with you.

12. I kind of know how you feel.
They just found a life long friend of mine dead last weekend. His funeral is tomorrow. He was hooked on booze from the time he was a kid and he mixed the booze with any kind of pills he got his hands on. He'd tried to kill himself before and I think that might have been the case this time. The ME hasn't released a cause of death so far.

56 years old and one of the best drummers I've ever heard play and had a great singing voice. But his music always kept him around the booze and the dope in the clubs and bars where he'd worked since he was a kid in high school. Really sad.

9. No wonder all those old Bible thumpers down through the ages

saw all that crazy shit they wrote about, in their dope crazed dreams! The crazyness in the "Book of Revelation" might have been written by someone on natural LSD.

5.1 POISONS OF THE PAST / ERGOTISM

snip...

II. ERGOT AND ERGOTISM

Ergot is a fungal disease of rye grass. It transforms the grain into enlarged, hard, dark spur-like structures. (My note: ergot comes from Old French; it means spur.)

It grows best in damp conditions. Variations in weather are therefor crucial for its growth. LSD, a popular street drug some years ago, can be extracted from ergot. (My note: in an irony so frequent in medicine, ergot--a poison--is used to control excessive bleeding in childbirth.)

Ergotism is a form of fungal poisoning caused by the ingestion of the ergot fungus. It infects porridge and breads made from the grain. Ergot is best known for the two frequent extreme forms of the disease: convulsive and gangrenous. The reddening or blistering of the skin has earned it the occasional name of St. Anthony's Fire. (Scarlet fever and erysipelas are caused by a streptococci infection and causes similar skin redness, a problem for diagnosis until this century.)

In most of Europe north of the Alps and Pyrenees, as in Russia, the staple food of the masses two hundred years ago was bread made from rye. Ergotism has historically occurred in areas which used much rye. Since ergot fungus grows best in damp conditions, epidemics were most likely to occur after a severe winter or a rainy spring. In the last 200 years, the Russian people suffered most--faced with a cold climate, they depended on rye which is a particularly hardy grass. The Russian epidemics subsided with increasing potato production. Ergot passes readily into a nursing mother's milk. Thus, a century ago, Russia had the highest infant mortality rates in Europe. 13. Small Correction
Brother Ted wasn't on crack. He was on crystal meth. According to all reports meth is much more deadly and life-threatening than crack. It guess sometimes the "facts" get in the way.
