I do NOT watch cnn, fox, or any of the MSM, but when I saw this exerpt on the Daily Show last night I was outraged. beck was interviewing an American Citizen who was elected to Congress, and asking him, "how do I know you are not working for our enemies?"

This is media santioned bigotry

Take a look around the site - go to Issues/Topics and click on Media Personalities. This may take a few hours, so sit back, use the rest room beforehand, fill up the coffee dispenser and enjoy! There is tons of media sanctioned bigotry and all of them have done it at one time or another.

On Edit: Except Keith Olbermann...the man is a GOD.

11. Welcome to America
Truth means nothing when compared to ratings.

I would dearly love to see Beck sued for slander.

20. Jesus ...
HOW ...

I caught him on XM a couple times, and have made a point of NEVER watching him on CNN ... He just is horrible ... Not only one in a seemingly endless train of cardboard cut out conservative talking heads, but he is clearly mental, and not in the least bit funny or entertaining ...

I just don't get it ...

Also ... It is a SAD statement on our media, and our country, when some penishead TV commentator can say what he said to congressman elect ... If this had occured in some way in revese, as noted in the string, the right wing would have gone APE SHIITE ...

be cut loose pretty soon and this nut-case will be the new numero uno hate/propaganda monger for the RW.

He's despicable.

10. Ah, The Stewart.
Hey, he's also a non-Christian! Where's his loyalty oath? Holy shit, so am I! Where's mine? How do I know that I won't betray me to my enemies? Sure, I could turn myself in, but I would just deny it when confronted and start squawking about the Constitution and stuff.

13. That is definitely one of the
tackiest things I have ever seen on TV. I cringe from embarrassment when I see it.The level of ignorance of the man. How did he get a job like that? What an insult to the voters too. He needs to apologize as does his employer. Unbelievable.

16. I hadn't realized that was on CNN since I don't watch it
just saw it on Jon Stewart and read about it. That sort of astounding ignorance makes CNN look REALLY bad to ousiders (like Canadians for example) who might be tempted to think, "No WONDER Americans are in trouble with terrorists in the first place and no wonder the Iraqis didn't welcome them with flowers!" Doesn't do CNN's reputation any good at all. What there is of it. I can't watch it. CNN has a bad "ugly American" problem and should be more concerned about the face they present to the world. I just think that question takes the cake for being politically incorrect. Almost as bad as some of Barbara Bush's famous quotes. I would sooner watch Al Jezeera any day.

21. Disgraceful. Where did G learn about patriotism, in Stalingrad?
not honoring our elected representatives is bad enough, but this blatant display of racism was unacceptable. Who cares what G "just can't help himself from saying?" A professional could "stop himself." But I think he did it on purpose to thrill his racist viewers--both of them.

Edited on Fri Nov-17-06 10:18 AM by treestar
at least the ones who mouth off about how wrong it is to ask that of someone with dual citizenship with Israel. This guy may only have one citizenship. And we know Muslims are to blame for terrorism as a group, due to the lack of a group spokesman to speak up condemnning every terrorist attack carried out by other Muslims.

This is the tribal mentality. America never was based on "the tribe" and doesn't need to now. It can't, it's too diverse.

Someone should give him a drink -- he needs it. Get him drunk or drugged up again -- it may save American lives overseas and spare us his racist, bigoted, hate-mongering broadcast.

24. I sent this email to CNN yesterday:
Fire Glenn Beck NOW!!

There is no place on mainstream TV for bigots and racists. After his comments to a newly elected member of Congress on November 14, Glenn Beck has got to go! He's not funny, he's not "politically incorrect," he's just a racist.
