I'll guess after 2008, but they don't need to overturn it, they can just undermine it.

1. I personally believe that the Republicans will lose politically if
they control such a vote in the Court.

It sounds this afternoon as if they've won.

I don't think they have ANY idea how wrong they are.

10. That was Alito's strategy of choice, to chip away
Plus they're probably a vote short to overtun it outright, unless Roberts can flip Kennedy.

3. This fall. I am an active mbr of too many pro-choice orgs to think
differently. It will be sooner than most think.

God, I hope I don't get raped in this fucking country.

9. Ohio WILL be the test case
just as GW promised Ken Blackwell...just in time for his campaign for governor.

It will be like Issue one for 2004 - everyone came out to bash the gays in Ohio. Next - womens right.

7. Not until AFTER November
Just on the off-chance they lose control, but I really don't see that happening.

8. When 25 million people a year stop getting abortions
we don't have enough jails . . . and we can't build them.

Somebody do some basic math with these idiots. If certain elements can cook up ecstasy and meth, they can certainly cook up RU3857382 or whatever it takes. However, the only thing it would take is 25 million people standing up and saying "fuck you, do something about it" to the government.

There aren't enough police and investigators.

17. Jails? Try "re-education" work camps
Minimize expense, maximize cheap labor, fund it from the "faith-based" budget so they can ram Jesus down the throats of any unbelievers unlucky enough to try to get an illegal abortion.

Because the Unitary Executive Said So.

11. there are plenty of cases just waiting to go before the SC
that will chip away at our freedoms.

First up - the bullshit law prohibiting late term abortions. Next - parental notification.

These are very soon folks. Not years, months.

12. I believe that 5 Justices support R v W
so not until another one passes away (Kennedy is the swing vote -- personally, I'm hoping he will get more liberal as Scalia, Thomas, Roberts and now Alito close ranks)
