So what are we going to do about the Right Wing Media?
Already the M$M has made it clear that they are going to attack Democrats, even on non stories. They don't report that Pelosi is speaker by unanimous vote, but they do report that she has hurt her own power by backing Murtha (who was targeted by the GOP, as we now learn, for a smear campaign.)

The M$M is also focusing attention on Wal-Mart sales, reports on the retailer being like giant commercials for Wal-Mart Christmas shopping.

Is the M$M beyond help? Is there a way to take it back, at least to fairness and ethics?

Fairness doctrine, anyone?

1. The media consolidation is a major problem for democracy. I hope the
Dems get this and do something about it.

2. M$M is beyond help
...so are most newspapers.
The future of information is right here. The effectiveness of the Internet helped win this past election cycle.

3. We have to get congress to dust off anti-trust legislation...
and begin to dismantle some of the glaring, regional monopolies in the media today. Whole sections of the country cannot find the information they need to become informed citizens..

The internet is only good for those of us who
1) can afford access
and
2) have not had the "internet" demonized by fearful people

4. we start calling it like it is. A corporate whoremongering RW media.
At every step, we note the corporate bosses, the corporate decisions and pass they routinely gave the GOP on all sorts of issues.
Everyone, except Pelosi and Hoyer and Reid should be mentioning this. Not them, because they need to be above the fray.

5. I hope those old anti-trust laws are still in place. We need to break up
a monopoly.

6. I've been ignoring it for the past six years
and I don't think I'm the only one. Newspaper and news magazine sales are in the crapper and I believe I saw where overall cable news viewership is off also. I can find everything I want to know here on the internets, even at times when the pipes are clogged with information. OK I confess to watching Countdown.

7. You are right to keep focus. If we are to win the "war" we must win hearts and minds...
The MSM PLUS talk radio will KEEP POUNDING AWAY. A 24/7 brainwashing machine.

The far right wing domination of talk radio continues to BOGGLE my mind. The relative failure of left wing talk radio, even in heavy democratic areas like Philadelphia, remains an economic mystery to me...

10. That's a thought
I don't have cable but if others did cancel, that might help.
