10. I care. This book and interview are a travesty & a very sad comment on our society in general.
I think it points out a very serious flaw in our interests and focus as a whole. It certainly explains how the GOP got away with so much for so long with the American public. It spotlights a very real problem that we need to address to see long-lasting change and hope in our country.

26. I'm not talking about the OJ BS. I'm talking about the general public's fascination with it.
And their general fascination with all things trivial and ridiculous instead of with the important and necessary.

28. "general public"? I'd think the media is more fascinated by it...
they're the ones that keep bringing it up.

Is the general public really concerned about shark attacks?

30. but they aren't!
according to fbi stats circa 1994 (the year of oj aka #32) 7 US women are murdered EVERYDAY by their husbands/bf etc....the simpson case was unusual for all the talked about reasons, but again, certain rightwing forces benefitted from running the story 24/7 until even those who never cared were caught up in it...this was the same pigmedia who had, several years earlier (1983) jumped all over the Miller murder case on Palo Alto Calif when ronald reagan's lawyer, roy miller, found his wife dead after their son had raped TORTURED and murdered her! The case was the biggest thing in HISTORY up until then - the satelite trucks were a mile long on nearby pacific coast highway. Then, suddenly, the media LOST INTEREST, so much so that not a word about the case was ever mentioned again on the MSM (even when the sicko murdering punk mike miller got sent to mental institute rather then to jail)...noone ever explained how that happened, but it did. and the very same forces which made the simpson case a BFD squashed the Miller case....to put it aimply, we have ALL been had!

21. Why do people act like this was the first guy to get away with murder?
It is a time-honored tradition in amerika that you receive the justice you can afford.

It is obvious to me that this is primarily about a black man getting away with murdering a white woman.

BTW, I saw the whole case and avoided the accompanying media circus, and at the end I couldn't have voted to convict, even though I feel certain he did it. The case that the DA presented was just that bad.

16. Why don't you since you're the one that has a problem with it
Personally, I think it's a good thing to keep this freak of nature, wife beater in the news. The more we see of him, the more stupid he appears. This book is a heinous display of vulgar ego. OJ has been emboldened since he's virtually gotten away with murder. He needs to be kept under the microscope, imho. It's not an OJ issue, it's a women's issue.

19. I don't think she wanted to spend the entire show on the subject - she just
brought it up to illustrate Douchebag Orally's hypocrisy, screaming about how broadcasting it indicates a "low point in our culture" while ignoring the fact that the same company signs his frigging paychecks each week. The guy that called proclaiming O.J.'s innocence unfortunately opened up a giant can of worms...

24. This is when I'll care about OJ...
When OJ links up with Michael Jackson, Katie Couric, Bob Dole, Wolf Blitzer, Britney Spears, Pat Robertson, Daryl Worley, the Hilton girls and the remainder of the Bush administration and go to Jonestown for a reenactment... until then fahgitaboutit...

25. O.J. Simpson is a sick motherfucker
and the fact that he can get away with murder and then go on to flaunt it in the face of society is just another example of what's wrong with the American justice system.

The double Jeopardy thing in this case stinks. If the evidence is there, he should be in prison. Maybe, it's just me? :dem:

32. if oj wasn't black, the racist media woulda went hohum....
even celebrity murders only 'got legs' under very specific circumstances - the pigmedia never steps on mr pig's toes :)
fact. the US media is racist. Same with most of the police and much of its governments. Simpson exploited the racism to cast doubts on the prosecution's case, and he won.
personally, i'm glad oj simpson got off, if only to drive pigs like oreally and foxnews crazy.
