MN Christian condedes defeat, and demands opponent convert
Funniest thing I've read all day....Rae Hart Anderson, running for state senate in MN conceded her race in an email to Satveer Chaudhary, a 2nd-generation Indian and pracicing Hindu. In the email, which is really a piece of work, she "witnesses" her faith to him, and urges him to convert to Christianity. Go to Wonkette to read the whole email. Here is part of it:

"The race of your life is more important than this one—and it is my sincere wish that you’ll get to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He died for the sins of the world, yours and mine—and especially for those who accept His forgiveness. His kingdom will come and His will be done—on earth as it is in heaven. There’s more….I love belonging to the family of God. Jesus is the way, the truth and offers His life to you and each human being. Pay attention…this is very important, Satveer. Have you noticed Jesus for yourself…at some moment in time, yet???"

3. No, that would be rude and impolitic.
Instead, he should witness to her about Jesus' true nature as an incarnation of Vishnu.

6. "Let's settle this the old-fashioned way ..."
Jesus vs Vishnu in single combat, winner take all.

13. "Thank you for offering me a new religion,
but I find the religion of my parents, my ancestors, and my people superior. It lacks the arrogance of trying to force other people to convert to it."

There ya go, polite to a fault and gets the point across.

4. "Well, gosh, Christian lady. Since I've never before heard of this
'Jesus' fellow, I'm going to have to look into him before I decide whether or not to abandon the faith of my ancestors."

I swear, for these people, religion is a mental illness.

9. Of course, the irony is that many Hindus...
... wouldn't reject Jesus at all. Because Hinduism is universalist, there's an implicit belief that God has appeared in many forms to many people throughout history and plenty of Hindu theologians have explicitly said that the story of Jesus is true and he is an earthly manifestation of God.

And guess where Jesus went when he grew up before he died?
India of course, about the same time Buddah was around.

11. Here's the funny thing: Satveer could convert to Xianity
And still stay a practicing Hindu. Hindus are a non-exclusive religion.

19. My wife went to this Lutheran church where the pastor
found out I was reading about Buddhism he preached a sermon against it. I wasn't there. But that's why I was curious.

20. Perhaps when he was asked this question...
"Have you noticed Jesus for yourself…at some moment in time, yet???"

He should have answered:

"Yes, behind the couch where he has always been."

Just a thought.
