The last time oil was under $55/barrel, gas was much lower than $2.299/gl |
|
And that wasn't around any holidays, if I recall rightly.

4. Gasoline has its own futures contract, and its own supply and demand |
|
Biggest problem is that refinery capacity and bottlenecks, seasonal mix changes, and specialized transportation of finished product are all factors for gasoline that don't affect crude oil.
BTW, I paid $2.16 yesterday (Michigan), which is the same price to the penny I paid 13 months ago, according to an old receipt I found in the center console.
Peace.

funny how they have had soooooooo many bottlenecks and changes lately.
Don't buy into the BIG OIL propaganda... look at their RECORD PROFITS... re-evaluate their 'excuses'.

7. I don't buy the Big Oil line, no how, no way |
|
Just pointing out that the markets for gasoline and oil track semi-independently from each other because of structural differences.
:-)

9. You know what they will do |

They will keep raising the prices and blame it on the Democrats.

12. Here in western Wisconsin |
|
the price of gas was $2.29 a gallon for a week to ten days before the election and that is still the price more than ten days after the election.
