Calling Dr. Dean - your money raising efforts just took a major hit |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 06:42 PM by Ugnmoose
Mind you I have alot of respect for Howard Dean and I think his head and heart are in the progressive movement to reform the Party. But I like alot of you are not going to give money to the DNC to support the re-election efforts of those who betray us. Sadly, money is what counts the most to these bastards. So let's them tell that they ain't getting any of ours.

You don't get it. With the Dems voting for the 'pukes, they might as well BE 'pukes. They are Dem in name only - why give them money?

3. What? And give the very people who oppose Dean another reason |
|
to say he's bad for the Party? You don't think that the cowards who couldn't even stand up for their party today aren't dissing Dean for not keeping enough money in the bank?
The very opposite should be happening.
Dean should be getting TONS of money ($25.00 for the 25 who have a spine)to elect DEMOCRATS to Congress so we NEVER have to face a situation like this again.
Phase out the DINOs, get rid of the whimps and put Progressive Democrats who would NEVER let their fellow Party members down.
Give to the DNC right now, don't punish Howard Dean for the cowardice of others!

And how are we going to communicate that to Dean? You got it.
We need to send a strong message to this party.

Dems have always had trouble raising $$ BECAUSE the wealthy people are ALL PUBS!!!!!
I haven't seen any list of Senators who voted YES, but ALL of THEM were elected BY YOUY! before Dean has been Party Chairman! If you want to fault someone, maybe we should fault OURSELVES!
The people who are really disappointing you are the Senators who voted YES! Jump on THEM!

Nothing against Dean, but I can't take the chance that he might distribute money to the fake Democrats.
He should have known that this would effect fund raising, so he should have gone on TV and spoken out more.

I'll look into the DFA and others and see what is out there.
I'll also concentrate my support for specific DEMs who listen to the base.
If the fake Democrats have an adverse affect on the DNC, then he can report the falling fund-raising numbers they caused to his bosses or who-ever...

Let's not be anti Dean, just anti establishment. Dean is trying to reform the Party from within and the only way he could do this was by assuming the reins as chair of the Party. So let's make it clear that we will openly support those progressives who share our values.

17. The DNC doesn't do Congressional campaigns. |
|
It would be great if Dean had that power, but he doesn't. That belongs to the DSCC and the DCCC. Until Dean came along, all the national party did was raise money from big donors for presidential elections. They totally ignored building local and state parties. They had nothing to do with other campaigns and elections ... just the presidency. Now, Dean is building state parties by funding some staff for them again, and most of those newly empowered state parties are going to be in his political debt over time. It's a hugely long haul to drag this party back from DLC irrelevancy. Please don't blame the guy who's working for US!

... but in his capacity as party chair can't do much about Senate reprobates.
The REAL problem is with a small sewing circle of arrogant Senate Democrats who have never heard of this thing called party discipline.
I've taken names, and come campaign time I will be kicking ass -- by supporting the anti-cloture Senatoprs and extending a middle digit to the rest -- and money to worthy primary challengers.

I could fight to replace the centrists instead. But I won't. I'll just cut your funding and make you look like an ass come election time when we lose big in the Senate and House. But remember, I still respect you (pimpslap.)

|
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 07:17 PM by Dr Fate
Personally, I'm not giving money to the DNC, because I know some will go to anti-DEM base Democrats.
But- I'll meet you half way and say that if you DO donate to the DNC, you should give them a specific reason why (A particular Dean TV appearance or speech, "fighting moment" etc)
ALWAYS include a letter or call with your donation.
Dean should consider a separate DNC fund for pro-base DEMS, which is the only fund a could give to now. Perhaps I should look closer tot he DFA
My money goes to Kerry and real DEMS only.
I was a fundraiser for the DNC during '04 and raised somewhere around $30,000-$35,000 bucks for them.
I am looking at this in a positive way- the filibuster has provided me with a point of reference as to how to direct positive energies.
You wont see those mean posts from me anymore- my "Dry Powder" joke thread was the last of them.

27. I know what you're saying, believe me. But I think Dean is caught |
|
in the middle of something that isn't his doing. If only there was a way to give to just him. Maybe there's a way to find out what he's doing in individual states and supporting those efforts somehow without supporting the DNC as a whole.
Hmm. I wonder if that's possible. Find good state-level organizations and support them. Or DFA. Or PDA.
Eh, don't mind me. I've got alot of nervous energy to burn off right now. Maybe I oughta join Skinner in that beer, and stop taking it out on the board.
