12. Can someone please tell me
What was the purpose of those names and votes on the side of the screep on C-Span 2 these last few days. I thought it was a list of how they were planning to vote today?

15. Those were supposed to be the Senators who either
through their speeches on the floor, or in announcements, has voiced how they plan to vote on CONFIRMING Alito! It wasn't anything to do with the vote to support a filibuster.

18. Thanks, Napi. Only question I have now is
If they were planning to vote against Alito's confirmation, how could they consciously vote against a filibuster?

That's rhetorical. I don't expect an answer...LOL

7. Thank you for the list. Traitors. Of course Lieberman is on there.
I will email all of them and tell them how I will actively work to see they don't get re-elected.

11. The first time I met Kohl
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 07:18 PM by zulchzulu
I was tabling for Kerry at the Farmer's Market in Madison one Saturday when I noticed some older guy dressed in a tacky Racetrack Charlie getup handing out some calendars or something next to the table. I figured he was some drole who had time away from his old folk's home to venture out in the sunlight...he was as pale as a ghost. I walked up him to see what he was handing out and he gladhanded me with a cold, lmp handshake. Blech...

I asked someone who he was and they said, "oh, (half-yawning), that's Senator Kohl..." "State senator?", I asked. "No, senator..."

Oi. What a wimp. Now I know why... he is up for re-election in 2006...hmmm...

16. Compare the 2 lists. Notice the difference?
Most of the Senators on the YES list are from Red, or at least Purple States.

I think that was the reason they weren't willing to go along with the filibuster. Can you REALLY expect any Senator to go against what HIS constituents are demanding?

I'll be watching to see what the final vote is tomorrow. I don't think the no's will win, but I bet there will be more than 25 of them!

21. Chaffee is from a Blue state, so is Snowe.
Clearly they are not 'afraid' of their constituents. This is BULLSHIT. Besides, alot of those states you speak of as being 'red' are really swing states, which disapprove of Bush.
