Should the National Guard be used to bolster the Army as it currently is

IMO the National Guard should only be used as a very last resort when dealing with foreign entities. It should be solely for the benefit of the state, for natural disasters or local unrest. IMO the way the Guard is being used now is actually misusing it and local recruitments tell the story. Why would anyone join the Guard instead of the Army if the Guard is going to be sent to every little conflict around the world? IMO this is a Blatant Misuse of the National Guard and I for one would like for it to end. If the Army is short of troops enlist more or establish a draft but leave the Guard where it is or Katrina like disasters will be a story in every state. IMO this is not supporting the troops but poking them in the eye with a sharp stick...The whole purpose for joining the Guard (providing a civic duty for your state and neighbors) is now lost. Now it has just become a reserve Army post and I don't like it.....:shrug:

1. No. That is not for what the National Guard was formed, it is our militia,

not an auxillary Army branch.
