Let's get some real Dems into office.
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 07:37 PM by GreenJ
It is really to say fuck it and give up on the Democrats, the thought crossed my mind today, but they are the only ones in position to challenge the Reich-Wing rule that is threatening are country. These are very ugly times and it is going to get much uglier, I am deeply saddened when I think of what things could be like when my son becomes an adult. These are our lives that are going to be harmed by Bush and his lackey filled supreme court, as well as the lives of our friends and families. I have shed tears over the direction our country is going in but at least now we have a nice clear list of those who will fight for us and those who will sell us out.

The 25 Senators who stood up for our rights today deserve to get our support. I think we should all contact these senators with our heartfelt thanks.

As far as the 17 weasels who voted to help rollback all the progress of the last 50 years and hand Bush even more power, they need to hear our anger. No one has the right to call themselves a liberal if they are going to help roll back civil rights and are going to help the madman in office consolidate his power even further. These jackasses need to be tossed out and replaced with real Dems.

The List of Shame:

Akaka (HI), Baucus (MT), Bingaman (NM), Byrd (WV), Cantwell (WA), Carper (DE),
Dorgan (ND), Inouye (HI), Johnson (SD), Kohl (WI), Landrieu (LA), Lieberman (CT),
Lincoln (AR), Nelson (FL), Nelson (NE), Rockefeller (WV), Salazar (CO)

Here in Connecticut we have Ned Lamont poised to run against Lieberman in the democratic primary. Please take a look at him and consider supporting him.

I implore people not to stop giving to all Dems because of the actions of some, we need them now. Give to specific Dems who you know will advance our cause, but if we stop giving at all no one wins but the Republicans. If anyone has info on real Dem challengers in other states please feel free to post it here.

1. You could fiind out who the Democratic challengers are in
the districts and give money to them.

I think that it isn't necessarily the ones who we are unhappy with who will be hurt by lack of fundraising. I think many young & great candidates will be hurt if Dems don't have money.

Don't give up on Dems. Just channel your money to those who you believe in.

2. If we give up on all Dems we are just hurting ourselves.
I definitely think some fresh faces are needed.

3. Just pledged $100 to Lamont.
I'm sick of that little bacterium Lieberman. That smarmy little turd had finally forced me to open my wallet. Goodbye Joe. Eat shit and die.

4. I volunteered with his campaign today.
I don't think I know a single Democrat/liberal in Connecticut who likes Lieberman, my Republican boss sure is fond of him though.

5. Thank you. Don't give up. Learn and get stronger
We need to take back the House in 2006. It's of the utmost priority. We also need to elect the RIGHT Dems. People like those in the list above need to be replaced. It's up to us to get people like Paul Hackett elected and take back the House!

6. This bullshit about if you don't support Dems
you lose, has to be addressed. The Dems SUCK! They have no power, they have no unity. They have no spine AND they do not have the interest of the people in mind. They are as much corporate whores as the Repukes at this point I joined the Green party a long time ago, as a symbol of rejection of go along to get along politics. Today, sadly. I am proud of my position.

8. Dems not supported in 2000. We lost. It's not bullshit. It's history
Your cure to having little power is to rid them of any power. Your cure for a lack of unity is to break off, not unite.

Once again, everyone can see the problem with the dems, but the cure of the greens is more of the same.
