The damage is done. And they knew it.

to do additional damage, also irreversible.

15. And they'll all be saying their next time up for re-election:
"You've got to re-elect me so that no more right-wing judges can be appointed!"

They know, and it's a good thing for them, that most democrats have short memories and that there is only one other option for them.
So they say "fuck it" and just do what they want, not what their constituents want.

5. they need to do something to give people a reason to vote FOR
them, not just AGAINST GOP.

Is that so hard to understand?

The public is on our side, but the Democrats are still pissing themselves like it's the day after 9/11.

7. You're assuming they will magically vote Dem after the election.
I think past history is a better judge. A 'puke in Dem clothing is still a 'puke.

The majority of them killed the Alito filibuster. Why would I want to vote for a party that's repug light?

9. Do you really think that a Democratic Senate would BLOCK is agenda...
or just "compromise" as they always do.

I wish the House had more power. The House Dems are the ones who stand up to * and co.

10. Why do you call them "democratic"?
And why should I refrain from "f**king them over" when they just did it to me? I just pledged $100.00 to Ned Lamont to get rid of Lieberman. Who's in the primary against Cantwell. She's next on my list.

31. I think you're fooling yourself
The "Democrats" who voted for cloture are wolves in sheep's clothing who allowed "cry-on-command" Mrs. Alito to cut their balls off when it was crunch time.

14. Only somewhat
I'm amazed that more people here don't seem to understand the importance of the federal courts. We are about to see the republican equivalent of the Warren Court, and it ain't going to be pretty.

And the Dems who voted for cloture are just as responsible as Bush and the republicans. When worker protections laws are undercut, when environmental legislation is overturned, when privacy rulings are limited and when civil liberties are curtailed, these Dems will be just as responsible as the republicans.

And as for people connecting the dots? LOL.

But even if they do, it will be spun just like the IWR vote, and will be portrayed as bipartisan because THESE DEMS gave the republicans that kind of cover.

that's Democratic only in name? If they vote like Republicans, we still lose.

23. AND...
we'll get bancruptcy reform that really helps people in need.

we'll get usury laws in every state of the union that prevents CC companies from raping people.

we'll tell those big multinationals that unless their products are 75% made in the good old USA, they can't market them here?

we'll get single payor universal health insuance.

we'll reverse the damage that the tax breaks to the top 1% and to corporations like FORD.

we'll pump money into good salaries for good teachers and help failing schools.

'YA THINK?????

It's a numbers game these bastards in washington are playing. At the end of the day, at the signing of each POS legislation, there's NO opposition party. We have 25 senators worth a damn. The rest are pugs. What does it matter if dim son is in office or not.

Sorry... I'm just so sad.

24. Get a clue dude we are going to lose seats in the senate and the
house. The so called Democratic senators have proveen they are unwilling to fight and unwilling to challenge the shrub and his minions. Thirty three years as a dem and I'm done, I have seen more effective debaters in high school debate teams. These cowards are unwilling to even try to fight, between traitors and the Dem's only putting forth the Dino's on the hate box agreeing with the shrub and their ilk, just give me one reason why I should give one damn about them. They don't give a damn about us or even themselves or their children, so Fuc*um all. I'll send money to Paul Hackett and maybe a few others if they speak the truth clearly and briefly. With corrupt election machines the bottomless pit of the Repug hate machine and their total control of ALL media outlets, we are done folks.

Yes, well, eight years of Clinton didn't much dent the Reagan/Bush I legacy, so I don't forsee the next Dem congress riding in like liberal avengers do undo the current damage.
