We Better Figure Out How To Win With An Up Or Down Vote Or We're Done.
The filibuster procedure is done for judicial nominees, period. If Alito isn't considered extreme by the gang of 14, than I doubt any candidate would be. We better figure out how to win when faced with only the up or down vote option then. It's the only way.

How do we do that?

Well, the only way I see is to win the senate in 06. You can all take however long you need to bitch about today and trash the dems, but it is my hope that you will regain focus and fight the true fight. We need to unseat as many repubs in the senate as possible this year. It is the only way. Remember, even the worst democrat is better than the best republican. As hard as it can be emotionally to remain focused, we have one mission and one mission only in my opinion, if we truly care about this country. That is taking back the Senate in 06. We can bicker amongst ourselves and bitch about how we want different dems in the primaries etc, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is making sure whichever dem wins has the BEST chance of overtaking their competing republican. That's our ONLY mission. It is the ONLY way. Please understand. We have to take back the senate or we will perpetually be faced with things beyond our control.

Organize, motivate, GOTV, start now, communicate often. Just make sure that any senator in your state up for the seat is voted in a democrat.

Take the time you need to recouperate, then get back on the horse and start figuring out how we beat the repubs in 06.

/end preaching.

1. Ending election fraud would help a lot.

2. You just volunteered to check out your County elections office on this
Thank you and your small committee of like-minded citizens.

Facetiousness aside, this issue is as serious as a heart attack, and I'm glad you noticed.

Right now polls of the American people show awareness of Republican corruption and a desire to have a Democratic Congress once more. We need to build on that.

4. Absolutely. But It Is Only One Component.
Bringing out the dems in such numbers that the threat of election fraud is negated and ineffective is the other component.

3. Get out and vote. And organize. And get along with moderates. Only
a big tent will win. And Bush is at 38% in the polls. So stop saying it is over.
