Will you be this angry next week, next month, next year? |

Right now everyone is vowing to do something about the Democrats who voted for cloture on Samuel Alito. As the weeks go on, and new scandals arrise, and the hearings on the illegal domestic spying take center stage, will you be as motivated to work to replace said Democrats, if that is what you want to do?
I ask because I hope that I will be, and I want to know if anyone else feels the same. I voted for Kerry above all because of the Supreme Court. Alito should have been unthinkable, yet 18 Democrats were not willing to do all in their power to stop him, knowing that anything less than total commitment, even at the cost of losing, meant that he would take O'Connor's seat on the court.
Replacing them isn't petty revenge. The organization and institutions built to oppose them can be used for the broader goal of reshaping the Democratic Party, and reconnecting with the American people, so that this never happens again. It would also revitalize state and local parties. Nothing more exciting than a hotly-contested, competitive race. People love a good show.

unless Alito turns out to be someone who upholds checks and balances, civil rights with remedies for ALL Americans, and checks abuse of power from the executive branch. So the answer is at least apparently yes. There is also NO forgiveness in my heart.

I'm still going to be angry in my next life and, since I'm only 38, that's saying something...
