The new freeper term to beat all freeper terms, better even than "Screwn"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1742357/posts

(from a thread on global warming)

"Why is when Americans go to London they start dogging the U.S. and our President?"

You have it exactly backwards: they go to London IN ORDER TO cast asparagus on this country and administration.

Just another example of Price's Law of Politics in action ("It's easier to be a liberal a long way from home.").

Do their terms of service stipulate an IQ score "at or below the 25th percentile" in order to become a member?

No wonder they all idolize Dumbya... He is their leader. I've always guessed his IQ is in the "borderline intellectual functioning" range of 80-85.

It is hilarious, though. Bless all of you who lurk and entertain the rest of us.

I don't want to cast asparagus at my opponent!

102. Sounds like a mangled version of Heinlein's "chucking asparagus."
I can't remember which character in which book said it (MIGHT be Lazarus Long,) but it was a made up colloquialism, a play on words version of "casting aspersions." The character intentionally used the slang reference although dialogue indicated he would have known the actual phrase perfectly well.

I always wondered if Heinlein culled the slangy, colloquial argot he put in his characters' speech from real people, and whether they were using such expressions as an intentional colloquialism or plain iggerence.

curiously,
Bright
