Ok so how would I go about posting an image that I have on my hard drive?

1. You need to use a photo hosting service

Like photobucket or flicker. It's actually very simple once you sign up.

2. Start an account on ImageShack, upload the file, then link it from here.

3. Sign on to an image hosting service (it's free)

Then upload the image (it's easy, they give you instructions).

Then copy and paste the link for your image on your post.

5. Your Service Provider Probably Gave You A Good Bit Of Space

Where you can transfer your pictures and then link to them. Every internet provider I've used gave me a good bit of disk space. I thought it was a generally universal practice.

7. HTML tags aren't necessary to hotlink pics at DU

No tags needed - just type the URL starting with http://
Images must be in gif or jpeg format
