Just heard on CNN: "Travelers are thankful for $2.35 gas"
Oh thank you President Bush for saving us from $3.00 holiday gas! I guess his oil buddies will only make slight record profits this year instead of massive record profits.

and to think that the 2K election theme was $1.57 gas..Outrageous!.
It's all been about getting us to be "thankful" for $2 gas..

2. It was $2.25 on Nov. 6th - gone up everyday since
Guess all those folks driving to the polls on election caused an increase in demand. :)

3. As if the talking chuckleheads on CNN pay for their own gas
The condescension of these overprivileged airheads never ceases to annoy me. It doesn't make any difference to these clowns whether gas if $1.50 a gallon, $3 a gallon or $100 a gallon; they don't pay out of their pocket to fill their own tanks, and even if they did, a six-figure annual salary has enough elasticity to cover a monthly gas bill whether it's $50 or $100. They have no understanding or appreciation for how that extra $50 can mean the difference for the working schlubs between heating their homes or feeding their families.

6. I am still waiting to hear from all those who said falilng prices had nothing to do
with the upcoming election.

So lets see...

Its just a conincidence that the prices started falling about a month and a half before the election, and are now going back up?

11. Something less than that which makes the oil companies richer than
most countries! Hey, like the poster said upthread...I would gladly pay 3.00 per gallon AND have health care as in Eureop!

12. Since average salaries haven't risen in 6 years,
And in my case (IT) fallen drastically, I'd say the fair price is the price from 6 years ago, when Clinton was in office.. About $1.20/gal.

13. My ass...
Gas should be less than $2.00 by now. And yes, you are right about shit head and his oil buddies making massive profits, if you were being sarcastic. Gas should be less by now or they should have electric converters out by now to ween us off the gas. I'd prefer a rechargeable electric converter.
