when are people going to realize it's all a sham? the fix is in. |
|
I tell you. We haven't had a truly Democratic president since Carter. We haven't had a good Democratic opposition since Reagan. We are so toast these days. Somewhere along the line, progressive values got sold down the river and we will see decision after decision after decision go the way of the corporatists because the tipping point has arrived.
They have the levers of power. THey have spread their risk across countries and economies. They have media. We will watch as our country and our way of life slide downward and we won't recognize this country anymore. Children will be informing on their parents. Neighbors informing on neighbors.
And still people will vote. people will run for office.......but the darkness has descended.
FOlks, it's time to cash in my chips and become an anonymous human in a 3rd world paradise somewhere. There is nothing left to save.

and nothing good comes of it except your token Obama win....something is strange.
I didn't see a passion FOR Bush in 2004. But I did see a passion to oust him.
BOth in 2000 and in 2004 it looked like a close call was averted and the Dem would win. Then Bush with his smirk would utter something like....."well, just wait. wait for it....wait for it...." awwwwww, shucks folks. looks like you got punked.
you DIDN"T WIN in FLorida like you thought. (Bro promised)
you DIDN'T WIN in Ohio like you thought. (Diebold owner promised)
on an on and on.
What do you bet the GOP holds both houses by enough of a majority in 2006 to be plausible for the sheeple?
ANd the slide willl continue. People will accept immediate abduction of "terrorist threats" out of liberal neighborhoods because they dared insult the president or speak out against the war. people will accept.

4. Clinton - Best Republican President we've ever had... |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 01:13 AM by Viva_La_Revolution
Heard it on DU over a year ago, and I agree.
Remember when Carter said "turn down the thermostat, wear a sweater, walk to the store"
Don't we wish we had all listened then?
on edit: I was in 2nd grade then, and I voted for Carter (mock election). How was it that a little kid understood more than than the adults?

5. The nation isn't ready for a true grassroots movement |

Most citizens are too comfortable. As long as they can rent their DVDs they don't give a crap. Things are bad now, but it's going to have to get a lot worse...

THey are comfortable and kept busily eating in the feedbag as they pull the plow.
SOmething major will have to happen to shake people's senses. and when that major thing happens it will be too late.

Will it be too late? Are we really cynical enough to think most Republicans would tolerate a police state, especially if their standard of living went down the tubes?
