My job is becoming Totalitarian...
Edited on Fri Nov-24-06 08:30 PM by and-justice-for-all
In less then 2 weeeks I have been told from Mason and Hanger upper management "That’s to bad" to stating that "questioning the procedures won't get you better treatment and could lead to your getting written up." <---If that isnt totalitarian, I don’t know what is.

I feel like a War Protester being told that if I do it again I am going to Getmo. They continue with "This incident has already consumed several people's time in getting the facts and taking statements, which distracts from the mission." Clearly saying, "we don’t care."

Its becoming more and more apparent that my work environment has no interest in what really happenes to their "Non-essential" personnel. Its just so happens that out of all the people that are working in the same area that have been classified as "non-essential" just so happen to work in the same department.

So, I cant report to my upper management about anything ever again, because it will accomplish nothing and get me nowhere. Being left to find for myself, when something does come up I will just get a lawyer and handle it myself. They dont want to listen or show some humility then fuck'em, I am really sick and tired of companies shitting on their emplyees and treating them in a way thats degrading.

2. If you don't need the job tell them to fuck off.
If you do need it, kiss their ass.

5. In that case, wave a lot, smile and keep moving.
Some people make a career out of it.

7. When I was a child, we didn't have pre-programmed play activities.
We made group decisions, and there was always a hierarchy in the group based on personality and who owned what toys. When we played jumprope, whoever owned the jumprope made the rules. But if the jumprope owner set the rules so that it wasn't fun to play, the other kids would tell the jumprope owner to f*ck off, and they'd go play another game.

It's too bad the U.S. govt has facilitated the offshoring of U.S. jobs. You could tell your jumprope owner to f*ck off and go play another job.

Human behavior never changes. But the number of people who own the jumpropes do. That pool is getting smaller and smaller.

10. I hear you on that one...
Honestly, I have been working at the same place for five years, and I have never wanted to quit because I like the people I work with. But the shit I've been through in the last couple of weeks has really made me start to question quitting my job.

Oh, and just like Milton from Office Space, it started with my boss asking me to move my desk.
