If this ain't a direct consequence of Bremer's stupid idea (with Bush's sage nod of approval) of disbanding the Iraq Army and de-Ba‘th-ing the Police, then I don't know what is!

When that was done and then quickly realized that they needed such an entity for security, Bremer opened up one big can of worms. Now we the "official" law enforcement entities infiltrated by opponents of our Puppet Government. Gee, didn't anybody see that one coming?

Remember the spate of bombings conducted against police recruitment lines back when they started the "reconstitution program"? Talk about thinning out the ranks so your own guys have a better chance of being selected.

So how to fix this...........disband the police and army and start over again? New uniforms? A secret de-coder ring, perhaps?

What a friggin' mess! It will take YEARS (if ever) to straighten out and get the Iraqi LEO community into a state where they are non-political and non-sectarian orientated. And in the meantime, those living in that country will suffer oppression and brutality.

I hope you like that legacy, Mr. Bush & Mr. Bremer.
