Teddy K just said "you're going to see in a few minutes the Democrats..."
"...are together on Alito."

Hmm...I assume he's just referring to the votes, but still, he's sounding like something is up. Daryn Kegel tried to slap him around re: his failed filibuster attempt.

2. What good does it do for the Democrats to be "together" if their votes
don't amount to crap?

Not to be a doomsayer here but, unless they have a surprise up their ass, I don't think together is going to stop the horror we are about to witness once Alito is Supreme

3. Unfortunately, I agree with you.
It's a done deal. I think he was just trying to look for a bright spot...all the dems will vote against him. Big deal, if even that is true. They've sold us out.

5. I'm pissed too but I don't equate voting against Alito with voting for him
Before we are partisans, we are Americans. If the Democrats sold us out, what did the Republicans do? If Democrats solidly controlled the Senate, like they did for much of my life, we would not have an Alito now going onto the Supreme Court. I do not lose sight of that.

8. Your right, I e-mailed Repubs, like Frist and Specter yesterday,
along with Lindsey Graham and told them they will be remembered for their roles in further dividing our nation, selling out to power and corruption and destroying the very foundation of America.

4. Ted did everything he could yesterday
and now he is trying to put makeup on this pig. Unless there are 51+ votes against Alito I simply don't care who votes no today. Senator Kennedy is a hero for his efforts, but he can stop trying to cheer me up. I'm ok with it now, the grieving is over, the grim reality faces us, we have work to do.

7. The attempt to filibuster was what we asked for and got. I have no
regrets. It was a fight worth undertaking, and needed to be fought. All of us should be proud that we got a full quarter of the Senate to vote as we would wish. We should be proud we forced another 19 Senators into the equivalent of a moral flip flop over their yes on cloture no on confirmation.

We are far ahead today than where we were last week. We know who are friends are and we know who just likes to play one on TV.

We got an up or down vote on cloture, and it meant something. Don't underestimate or forget that.

11. Kerry and Boxer are almost always in sync -
Even Tweety had to concede that Kerry and Boxer were the two best interrogators in the Senate. (I'm sure it killed him to admit it.)

Too bad they aren't on every committee.
