3. *sigh* Thanks
I'll admit it...I'm in a gloom and doom today over this final nail on the country's coffin.

Tonight will be a "Year of Transformation" speech by Bush with champaign corks popping throughout the halls.

12. As if these numbers matter.
The real vote was yesterday, and I'm determined to let our traitors know it. A no vote today is meaningless. If they voted for cloture, they must pay the piper.

16. Sorry, I disagree that fillibuster was the best way to go
It should/could have been a last resort action while votes for moderate Republicans were switched to 'no'. As it is, we started thinking fillibuster from the start instead of putting unimaginable pressure on moderate Republicans from the close of the gavel after the hearings. Had enormous pressure hit them, it's likely we would have seen a different outcome and not needed a fillibuster. JMHO.

17. Interesting.
And I don't disagree with your analysis, per se. But I expect Repukes to be Repukes. If they switched to our side as a result of pressure, then great. If not, I couldn't blame them.

But I can and do blame our party members for sacrificing our civil rights and our system of government because it was politically expedient to do so. That is unacceptable.
