I really think the Democrats should go out on a national strike.
I just say that we walk out of every office and let the greens and liberterians clean up this mess. Really people can talk the talk but for once I'd like to see them walk the walk. It's really easy to blame the democrats for everything when Senator Kerry, the guy you didn't vote for get in. Thanks guys you didn't vote for Kerry and all I got was this right wing court.
My hopes for a stem cell cure is out the window now.

1. You left out the scared democrats who crossed over...
because they thought Bush would protect them against terrorism better than Kerry. It was a huge selling point that the right used and it worked apparently.

6. It's crazy
I've never voted for someone because of what they say in their commercials but the majority of Americans do. And it works.

2. huh? i'm far to the left of the dems, but i voted Gore, Kerry
kerry's failure to defeat bush is not due to Naderites or any other fringe party in 2004.

but, regardless, i'll bite: at least greens & libertarians might form an OPPOSITION, instead of enabling.

this really isn't the day to pick this fight. the democratic party is teetering on the brink of irrelevance. they are seen by the majority of americans as utterly confused & spineless.

4. Third parties will never be a serious factor
All they do is help one side win over the other. With the electoral college system and it's "winner takes all" setup, it's guaranteed to only get either a democrat or a republican candidate elected. Pretty convenient how the two sides set it up that way huh?

8. the whigs & the democrats were the 2 party system
before the republicans replaced the whigs.

greens replacing the democratic party isn't going to kill me. i'm already living under total republican rule.

5. nah - just hope for an American stem cell cure
Our government is so incredibly stupid about this. the intellectual property patents from real entire classes of stem cell treatments will make whatever country develops them first staggeringly rich beyond belief.

And so our hard haired hyper "moral" two faced bigots here will be buying injections for their wrinkly old asses and sagging boobs the very micro-second the pharma tech is available here regardless of whether the fed withheld funds to American researchers.

You can be utterly certain of that.

7. with all the layoffs and offshoring going on, most working people . . .
will be reluctant to strike for fear of losing their jobs . . . and for many it's probably a very legitimate concern . . .
